I have degrees in Ancient History, and Theology; as well as a Ph.D. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies. I'm a fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, Dune, Battlestar Galactica, and Fringe; as well as a reader of Heroic Fantasy from the likes of David Gemmell, David Eddings, and Raymond E. Feist.

I've been a Guest Lecturer in Trinity College, Dublin; and I've taught Creative Writing to unwilling adults (!). I l live with my wife, two daughters, and my Shichon and best friend, Monty, in Ireland.

Before I kn…moreI write about it, maybe starting with something as simple as 'I don't feel like writing today. It's like there's just nothing in my head'. Before I know it, the physical act of writing has me back in the saddle. My advice - be as descriptive and reflective about your 'block' as you can. Tell yourself what you're feeling. You'll find that you're not as blocked as you think.(less)
