Write. There's no such thing as the inability to write words. They may not make sense, but write them anyway.

If I hit a "block," I stop writing syntactically. I will jot words. List the items on my desk. Things in my purse. Names of books on the shelves around me. This is the "haze-clearing" phase. The brain will do this less and less frequently if you don't let it get away with it. :)

This works in class, too. I tell my composition students to keep writing even when their brain halts. They must write "word, word, word" and keep writing it until something new pops in their brain--which it ALWAYS does. The brain needed a bit of a break, but it gets tired of the fingernail on the chalkboard and will spew out something, anything, to get the writer to stop writing "word." Works like a charm for them, too.

Given it bones, muscle, tissue, and skin. I may have to polish it a bit, put better clothes on it, but I made something exist where there was nothing before. I'm suddenly a word goddess. Who wouldn't love that power?(less)
