Soon he felt the urge to write as well but found that his own life contained nothing worth telling yet. He naturally began to follow the footsteps of his favorite writers and heroes. First it was India, then it was South East Asia. Writing topics began to pile up. Drama, comedy? Probably both. Despite being so young, he briefly turned into a gold smuggler and gathered enough material for an original account in French on which a year of work has already been done. Approximately one year of additional effort would be necessary to rework the first draft.

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”
