Biography
Simon Polling is a veteran sleepwalker, writer, screenwriter, and author of the new novel GAMMA, The Leader Files. With almost two decades in the Navy, Simon had a lot of time alone to read and write; mainly within the military and science fiction genres. Developing on his sleepwalking, he found a niche in the Quantum Fiction world with his series The Leader Files. Simon now a Paramedic, has a passion for helping veterans suffering PTSD. He has also recently completed a screenplay pilot titled Broken Arrow, Heart of Darkness for the UK BBC. How do you deal with writer’s block?

If i cant find the right word I...xxx get on with the rest of the sentence, placing an xxx in place of the word i cannot think of and dont let myself stall because of an unknown word.
If the writers block is bigger than a word and is a plot conundrum, then i leave it with (Add more here) and move onto another chapter.
If the manuscript has developed to a stage where I feel lost or uninspired to write, I close it and open another manuscript that I am working on. All the stories that I currently have in development are all swirling around inside my head, there are always things that I need to get down on paper, so I dont allow 'writers block' to be something that stresses me out.
Dont let it control you, dispel writers block by clearing your mind of that particular problem and work on a different plot/story/passage/manuscript. What you will find is that your subconscious will continue to problem solve that initial issue and you will all of a sudden, when you least expect it - maybe at 2am (like me) it will come to you and you will have the answer that your subconscious mind found without you stressing over it. trust me.(less)

Simon Polling As a writer of fiction, i get to create worlds, characters and events. My imagination is the master of the manuscript.

Concept for Broken Arrow, Putin Rendition 2022.1

This novel is a continuation in the saga of Ralph Arnold and his adventures through life as a veteran with PTSD in a crazy world. When Russia invaded Ukraine on the 24th of February this year, I thought that this might be an opportunity to utilise Ralph and his ‘abilities’ in the setting of a real-world, real-time story.
