I keep a notepad by my bed so that I can write down what comes to me. I usually wait for inspiration to come, I don't like to force the process. Usually just thinking about my writing projects inspire me. I make it a habit to write down any interesting thoughts that come to me. I will tuck them away for later use if they don't apply to what I am currently working on. I like it when the process flows, if it isn't flowing, then maybe now is not the time and I focus on something else.(less)

But they are kept in all different places, some are in my computer, some are in notebooks, on post its. I decided that I wanted to collect them into one collection and then share them with others. During this time I overheard a phone conversation between my Aunt and her friend. Her friend asked her how to smudge her living space. As I listened to my Aunt give her advice, I was left thinking that there is a lot of spiritual knowledge that isn't taught or passed down any more. A few nights later I had woken up in the middle of the night and written the words "Spiritual Guidebook" on my pillowcase. The next morning when I read that, I knew the direction of the book that I wanted to write.(less)
