Iain Kelly was born and lives in Scotland, where he works in the media industry as a television editor.

His popular coming-of-age mystery The Barra Boy was published in 2022 and was followed by the historical thriller All We Cannot Leave Behind, and the crime thrillers, Full Sun and Hostile City.

He has appeared at events alongside fellow crime writers including Ian Rankin, Callum McSorley, Alex Gray, Lin Anderson and Douglas Skelton, as well as hosting several author events including Peter James and Natalie Jayne Clark.

Hopeman is his 8th novel and the 3rd in the Cal Jackson series.
