I remember when I was a teenager I saw director George Romero's Dawn of the Dead movie. I couldn't sleep for days but was very much intrigued. Years later I saw its sequel, Day of the Dead, and was so inspired that I wrote George Romero a letter with an idea for a new zombie movie. I never got a letter back, but that's okay. It resulted in my own zombie opus, De Grote Zombie Show (The Great Zombie Show).

I decided to write that story after reading The Hunger Games and because of all the complaints of my 13-year old son. He said that he had to read some books for school that only dealt with girls problems. I promised him a exciting young adult novel for boys and that has the structure of an action game. I had a lot of fun writing it. Parts 2 and 3 are already finished.(less)

“Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.”
