Roy Have you picked a side in the complicated Amazon vs Hachette war yet? Perhaps it depends on whether your perspective is that of reader, or indie author, or author who has a deal with a Big 5 publisher. https://www.facebook.com/PatchesOfGre...
Amazon does own the awesome Goodreads now, so there's that too. http://authorofpatches.blogspot.com/2...

Roy It's been said that there are no original ideas. A fellow GoodReaders recommended Alfie to me. I'm familiar with but have never watched either of the movie versions, and until today did not realize it had been adapted from a novel (as are most of the best movies). Anyway, as I read the synopsis it felt as if I was reading the synopsis of my very own novella - Feeding the Squirrels. Fancy that! I may not get around to reading Alfie, but at the very least I suppose I must check out one of the movies based on it to see how it compares to my story. If any of you wishes to compare and contrast them, I posted Feeding the Squirrels chapter by chapter in serial format at my blog - A Line A Day. The story begins here, with its Prologue: http://lineaday.blogspot.com/2013/02/...

Roy "Todd once spoke passionately to Audrey of forever. She had since become an expert on the fluid definition of that term. Like love itself, forever meant different things to people at different times. They could imagine what infinity looked and felt like as much as they wanted, but could never truly grasp its meaning nor bear its full weight." - From Matters of Convenience http://lineaday.blogspot.com/2013/12/...
