Roy There have been days I thought that perhaps Patches of Grey has become dated. While the USA is certainly not a post-racial land due to the election of President Obama or for any other reason, had enough fences been mended and divides bridged for the racial tensions chronicled in my debut novel to largely be the stuff of yesteryear? But when I see so many vehement polar opposite viewpoints to headline news stories such as the killings of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, there is no denying that regardless of how far we have collectively come, there are still a great many Americans with a long long way to go towards realizing Dr. King's dream of a nation of people judging each other strictly by the content of character.

Roy http://www.pinterest.com/pin/18999629... "The Kaos Krew paid little heed to those who supposedly controlled their neighborhood. They felt nothing but disdain for landlords, store owners, politicians, and especially cops, who were considered to be nothing more than a better funded gang. The boys in blue thought they called the shots, but were deluding themselves. The streets belonged to those most intimate with them." ~ from PATCHES OF GREY
