Roy I have entered my second novel Matters of Convenience in the Kindle Scout contest at Amazon. The link below will take you to an excerpt from MOC that's going live 9/14 and will be up for 30 days. Please check it out and hopefully you'll see fit to nominate it for a publishing deal from Kindle Press. If KP chooses to publish Matters of Convenience, those of you who nominated it will win a free copy.

Roy So my second novel Matters of Convenience has been completed AND been submitted to Amazon's Kindle Scout contest. Sounds like I'll need to wait a couple days until the entry is live and eligible for 30 days to be nominated by discerning readers. Fingers crossed that plenty of you show it some love, putting it in position to be published by Amazon in Kindle format, and for those who nominated it to win a free copy. If I don't earn a publishing contract via Scout I still intend to publish Matters of Convenience soon. 11/15/16 is my Plan B target date for publication. Either way, along with the Kindle version those of you who prefer print will have the opportunity to buy a copy in paperback format. More to come. Stay tuned!

p.s. Here's an article about the Kindle Scout program if you're not already familiar with it. http://www.techtimes.com/articles/188...

Roy It's official. Harriet Tubman will be replacing Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill. There is simply no good reason (some rather weak ones were cited) for this not to have happened, so I'm happy to hear that it will be so. http://lineaday.blogspot.com/2015/05/...

Roy A century of excellence. Happy 100th birthday to Beverly Cleary. I invoke her name whenever asked who my earliest literary loves and inspirations were. Her books are still a household staple since I have a 10-year old daughter. Timeless awesomeness.

Roy On the heels of Harper Lee and Umberto Eco we've now lost Pat Conroy. Prince of Tides is one of those books that never leaves you, and there are a finite number of those around. R.I.P. and thanks for the stories you left behind.

Roy The idea of replacing Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill has been suggested. The first woman to be depicted on US paper currency perhaps. A solid list of candidates was compiled. A poll was taken and Harriet Tubman emerged as the favored candidate. I'm all for it. But a handful of people have a problem with Harriet Tubman being on the $20 bill. I find these people to be way off base and said exactly why at A Line A Day - http://lineaday.blogspot.com/2015/05/...
