I'm so sorry about Shep, but you know he's in a better place. You'll see him again :-)

Today I had to say goodbye to Shep, my first dog.
Took him to the vet to try and see why he's been losing weight and coughing, only to find that cancer had taken over a little over half of his lungs, which was why he was laboring for breath. Given the choice between forcing him to live like he was constantly drowning, and releasing him, I chose the latter.
I'm doing okay all things considered, my intuition had sort of seen this coming, so the shock wasn't too bad. Still, I have the funny feeling that I'm gunna be crying myself to sleep for the next couple nights.
Goodbye my best friend, my wolly mammoth; may you rest in peace until we meet again.

Just finished a freaking sweet short story prequel for my next project, World of Shadow: Of Wolf and Man.
A nice dark supernatural horror piece set in the mountains of Colorado. In "Bargain with the Devil", you meet two of the major players behind the scenes and learn their stories from their own points of view. It coincides with the beginning of Of Wolf and Man, and features a couple spoilers, so I don't know if I want to release it as a short story before I finish the main novel or not. :\ Hmmm... delemmas...
