How exciting that you have one of the signed prints of Chris McGrath's Dresden covers! I personally haven't read those but my husband is a huge fan.

I live in Seattle and it so happened that Kim Harrison and Patricia Briggs (it was a joint signing!) tour included Seattle last spring! It was my first book tour and signing; they were both wonderful and hilarious!

Sorry I didn't clarify but that chapter in Trent's POV is a rewritten "A Perfect Blood" chapter and not from the next book. Here's what Kim said:

"This is the version that will have one of the chapters rewritten from Trent’s point of view, giving us another look at not only Rachel, but Al as well."

Some of my other favorite UF series are: Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, Stacia Kane, Karen Chance and I liked the earlier Charlaine Harris Sookie books but sadly they plummeted downhill for me after book 8.

Oh, lucky you! Where do you live that you got to go to the signing? I've never been to one. I did order a signed print of one of my favorite Harry Dresden covers from cover artist, Chris McGrath, who I LOVE, but I've never met an author before. Even briefly. That really sounds like fun!

I try not to read any of the advance chapters of books coming out, just because it makes me that much more anxious to get my hands on the next book. I DO read any and all short stories or other "complete" publications connected to the series, though. Hope you find the chapter fun.

I enjoyed seeing Trent's memos "in his own hand" in the Hollows Insider. I just thought that book was so clever...with the "taped" pages, and handwritten stuff, and paper clips, etc. It was as much fun to look at as it was to read. And I liked the summaries of each type of supernatural being, too. It helped get them all straight in my mind. My memory can get fuzzy in between books.

What other series do you really enjoy?

Hi Marcia, Thanks for friending! To answer your question (from Susana's thread) I do have The Hollows Insider and I agree, it's a beautifully made collection with some great info. In fact I went to Kim Harrison's signing back in March and had her sign it! Looking forward to Into the Woods - specifically the Trent and Jenks short story, woohoo!- as well!

Also apparently there's an extra chapter in the mass market edition of A Perfect Blood (releasing today!). It's a chapter rewritten from Trent's POV :) Needless to say I'll be stopping by the bookstore to read it!
