I have no doubt I'll enjoy your work. The Darkest Lullaby has been on my Amazon wish list for some time, after coming across it while browsing one day. I'm hoping to finally get to it when I at LAST finish The Brothers Karamazov (a most intimidating novel on so many levels). Going to take the rest of the month to finish that one :)

Hah! That's right, Duane. Matheson loved that word. I find myself mining all kinds of great words from his tales. The guy adhered to one of my favorite writing axioms: "Use words the common reader understands but the common writer doesn't use."

Man, Duane, I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that. Matheson is as good as it gets (well, except for King, but you know what I mean). Mr. Matheson is indeed one of my main influences, and I'm extremely happy you detected that in The Sorrows.

I just started The Sorrows and I'm a little over 50 pages in. You've hooked me. I'm feeling a strong Matheson influence here, besides the obvious references to The Legend of Hell House film and the immense and foreboding setting.
