Hide My EyesGreat mystery writing. Actually, this is more of a suspense tale than a mystery, as we know soon who the bad guy is. The fun is in watching the villain at work- especially when the villain's plans go awry, and everything unravels. One of the interesting things about the author's style is the way she is able to bring the villain to life. At times it seemed like I was watching a Hitchcock film. This is a book that can be read again, the descriptions are that good. And this would make a great movie.

Girl in a Band: A Memoir One of the better memoirs I've read in a while. She is a good writer, her use of words adding a lot to the narrative. It is ultimately a sad account, though, as she is still dealing with the pain brought on by her cheating husband. The only drawback to the book is the amount of time she spends describing the art scene she was immersed in. But maybe I'll pick up more about that when I read the book again- which I will.
