I checked out God of Small Things and love the style. I'm having to read it in very, very small doses right now though and that just isn't working. I'll try to get a copy to take to Mexico with me. Are you in Erie now. We had our book discussion on Jhumpa Lahiri and no one could remember any of the details or the stories. Everyone remembered liking them though. I think the holiday season has just interfered too deeply in people's lives.

I LOVED A View from Garden City by Carolyn Baugh, and I was not alone! My book group loved it. The women's stories were profound and the characters were memorable. It made for a great discussion and opened our eyes to life in Egypt.

First of all, everything else I read pales next to View from Garden City by Carolyn Baugh. What a book! Poetry in prose. I so want to visit Egypt now. I want to meet these women.
