Dude you don't even know about me and Coraline....Whenever my cousin was with me, she would try to tell me the story, but her mom would get mad because she thought it was too scary for me. Whenever she would start over, I swear, my aunt had ears like a rabbit and would stop her from telling me the rest. I knew I was destined to read the book, so one day in sixth grade, I picked it up, then remembering that this was the story my cousin always used to tell me about. I thought it was great. And I'm not just saying that. This book was hardcore horror. When I realized there was going to be a movie, I went ballistic. Sadly I did not see the movie though. I think that someone should look into making it a real horror movie with people, and actually see the darker side of the story, instead of making it a movie for a more younger age. But who am I to speak?...I didn't even see it.

Just wanted to say I'm enjoying the Metamorpho story you're doing with Mike Allred in Wednesday Comics immensely.

Thanks for accepting me into your circle of friends here on goodreads. I've read several of your books and I've loved them all. Neverwhere is one of my all time favorite books, I've read it several times and am sure to read it again. I hope to see The Old Firm again sometime in the future, Croup and Vandemar were just superb in every way.

The last book of yours I read was American Gods. I'm pretty sure I didn't put it down except to eat and sleep until it was over, quite enjoyable, and I expect to read it again soon. Anansi Boys has been on my to-read list for awhile, but The Graveyard Book has popped up on my radar of must-reads and has me excited, so I think that first, then Anansi.

I recently (like 10minutes ago) found out that you are a Roger Zelazny fan! I've read the Amber books more times then I can recall. In the bookshelf of my mind they are up there on the untouchable, legendary shelf and I've infected my friends with them as well. To date though, I've only come across two people who have heard of or read Zelazny's work - prior to my insistence that they do so in all haste. - (I have extra copies explicitly for this task.) I'm glad to know it's possible to bump into another Zelazny fan here and there. Though, I shouldn't be surprised, Neverwhere is up on the same shelf and has also had copies thrust into the hands of friends with demands to be read, and along with the amber books, was well received.

Anyway this is getting long, if you're still with me here, let me just say thanks for sharing your worlds with us. Authors like you, your worlds, and your tales that take place within them are what keep me sane...Ok as sane as a person can be. You add enchantment to a world desperately in need of it. Thanks!

I just read the Graveyard Book this evening. Holy crap was it good. I wish I saw the world through your eyes; as that is impossible I thank you for bringing your vision to us.

On a brighter note, I saw the Coraline movie, in 3-D, and loved it almost as much as your wonderful novel. What a magical movie based on an even better book.

i love your books, especially stardust, the dream hunters, american gods and good omens (with terry pratchett). i'm halfway through the sandman series, taking my time savouring each volume. it'd be awesome if you wrote a sequel to stardust!

Took me only 1,5 days to read the Graveyard Book (finishing at 4:30 in the morning), and in all that time I was thinking: "Neil Gaiman should have written this book years ago, when I was a kid, because I would have LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this when I was a child".
The fact that I loved it as much now, being an adult, truly shows what a kid-at-heart I truly am. And I like this fact being reinforced.

Coraline is a great book!

My husband got me into the Sandman series, and it just blows me away with every story. I LOVE this series. I love the characters you give us, the story lines are scary yet wonderful. I'm excited to go home from work every day just so I can read more of them. :) Now I'm off to see what happens next to Princess Barbara....Much Love to ya.

You are my favorite writer of all time. Sandman changed my life; Fragile things re-defined me.

Did I mention I saw Coraline and thought it was brilliant? Nearly as brilliant as the book,actually. I do have to say I really enjoyed the changes. I always find that movies that strive too hard to be exactly like the book tend to suck lots. But I thought the movie struck the perfect balance there, keeping the most important things and the whole tone, but making it much more visual and just making sure it was a great movie as well as being a good adaptation. Anyway, congrats on that, and of course to Coraline being pretty much the creepiest kids book ever (And one of the more awesome in general).

Congrats on the Newbery Medal! The acceptance speech ceremony at the American Library Association Conference is a big deal. Last year's speeches were amazing! Have fun crafting your speech for that, I'm sure it will be wonderful!

Had an opportunity to see Coraline in 3D this past weekend and enjoyed it nearly (but not quite) as much as the book. Kudos for the Newbery. The Graveyard Book is truly deserving of the honor.

I saw Coraline in 3D last night. Loved it! The first movie in a long time that has brought me such joy! Henry Sellick was the perfect person to make this movie.

We were going to go see coraline this weekend, but now one of my daughters nad I are sick so we are going next weekend. I cant wait!

We're on our way right now, and traveling to an IMAX theater on the far side of a neighboring county to get the 3-D experience. I am really enjoying hearing my 6yo daughter's reactions to the various incarnations of what has become her favorite story. The novel, the graphic novel, and now the film...thanks for providing us all such great fun!

And CORALINE the movie is out in the US this week. If you're putting it off, I should remind you that we only have the 3D screens for another couple of weeks, and then The Jonas Brothers 3D movie will come in and take them over.
