I wanted to point everybody at http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/1221698.Neil_Gaiman/blog/729811-a-modest-proposal-that-doesn-t-actually-involve-eating-anyone which is my suggestion for something that we can all do this Hallowe'en season...
Thank you for the add! I've been going through all of your books; my favorite is still American Gods, which I reread recently. I was still thinking about it over the next couple of days. I've been gearing up to do Nanowrimo, so reading your books has helped inspire me and get me in the mood to write like the wind. :)
Thank you for adding me to your friends list. You are not only one of my favorite authors, you are one of my favorite people!
OK, so when are you going to convince the Tolkien estate to let you do a graphic novel version of 'The Silmarillion?' If you decide to give it a go, I'll set up the facebook lobbying page ;). (Only half-joking)Best, Neil!
Currently reading the good omens :) surely brighten up my day.. :D Looking forward to read more of your works ;) Tk care ^^
Hello my dear neilI am very proud
This is my pleasure
Thank you for add me as your friends.
It`s my honor to be in your friends list.
Best regard
I just read the comment that you did a Doctor Who episode...I can't believe I didn't know this. Doctor Who is my favourite show EVER.
Yay! I'm glad to be your friend. Hope to meet you IRL someday. Thank you for all you've written, esp "The Sandman" and "American Gods". I look forward to watching your Doctor Who episode!
If you're in New York this week, try and see Amanda Palmer, Jason Webley, Sxip Shirey and, of course, Evelyn Evelyn at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on Christopher Street. It's a wonderful evening (I got to see the proto-show in Europe, and the finished one in Minneapolis last week).www.sohorep.org for details
Amanda Palmer
I just learned that Instructions
is in its Fifth week on the New York Times Bestseller list, and wanted to say thank you to everyone on GoodReads who got it for themselves or as a gift...Here's the video, if you haven't seen it, showing Charles Vess art going from pencil to paints, and me reading over it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWRvqO...
Barley noticed you added me as a friend. I'd like to say thanks, and that I look forward to reading more of your works!
What my media teacher wrote in my yearbook:"All hail Neil Gaiman!"
Hear, hear! Hooray for the teacher who leant me American Gods, and hooray for Neil Gaiman!

Neil,So I admit, not all of your books have been my favourite, but I'm completely in love with Fragile Things and Good Omens, so I'm going to give more of your stuff a try this summer. You're an incredibly unique writer, and I love that. I thought you should know that I got tired of checking out Good Omens from the library and went ahead and bought my own copy...it's already bent and well-read.
Keep it up, Neil!
Love,
Morgan
I wrote a piece about Ray Bradbury, who will be 90 this year, in the Times: http://entertainment.timesonline.co.u...
Hi Neil,I'll be frank and admit that I haven't read any of your books (yet). I added you as a friend when I learnt that you'd be writing for Series 6 of Doctor Who. I'd heard of you before this, but as a big fan of DW, I'm now more determined than ever to read some of your work. So far I've been impressed that you take the time to chat to your fans. Really looking forward to see what you write for Doctor Who.
All the best,
Lilly.
Mr. Gaiman,I want to sincerely thank you for supporting librarians right now during this difficult time. It's hard to fathom why libraries are one of the things being cut right now when so many people need them, but then I suppose it's easier to complain about things that "aren't necessary" for the public when you have access to them. As a recent library graduate who is looking for work I especially value your contributions to the profession and the institution. I hope to see your continued support, and maybe some new supporters along with you.
Sincerely,
Amy Campbell

Well, it's my turn to thank you for accepting my friend request. Actually it came as a shock to me, I did not think you would actually bother to read and reply to all those messages, being both a caring father and a really busy writer. It seems that you manage your time really effectively, and i envy you for that as well!I really have to congratulate you on your collaboration with Mike Mignola. He is a favorite of mine, and I adored his variant cover of The Dream Hunters comic issue. His style is nothing similar to Yoshitaka Amano's, but I think it gave the story another perspective, crude but pleasing nonetheless!
I hope to see yet another dark, but drop-dead hilarious project of the two of you, in the near future.
Oh, and one last thing. I know you have many fans here in Greece, but I fear they're not remotely enough for you to come over and have a book signing in our country. Is there some other way that I could get an autograph of yours? It would mean a lot to me, for I'm aspiring to someday become a writer myself.
I hope that my longer-than-usual message and my mediocre use of English did not tire you.
Thank you Neil Gaiman, for sharing your world with us.

This reminds me of a good friend of mine's quandary, in high school in the 80s. She felt she couldn't wear her favorite fingerless black lace gloves anymore after Madonna made them popular. I reminded her that to eschew something because it's popular is as stupid as choosing something because it's popular! Either way you're letting others dictate your taste.
Thanks for accepting my request as well. I think it's very refreshing that you are so accessible. Love it!!

I ..."Neil. Don't listen to Maria for a second! You are the best! I love your work. I own all of your novels in beautiful hardback copies (except for Good Omens, I have the paperback cuz I got it signed by you and Terry). You are exceptional and i hope you keep writing me fantastic stories! thank you for entertaining me, Lindsey
Hey!! Thank you so much for accepting my friend invitation! I am a huge fan of your works and I really loved the books Coraline and The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish the best! Also, I saw your movies Coraline and Stardust and they were fantastic!

I agree with Mr. Gaiman.

I think it's wise to like what you like because you like it, and not to be swayed by what other people like or don't, think or don't think.
Hi Neil,I just recently saw the movie version of Coraline & it was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Very well done!
Your friend & fan,
Rai
Neil,Dude, you write gorgeously, and faster than I can read 'em! You deserve all your honors.

Hello there Neil Gaiman. I was watching a movie called Princess Mononoke and at the end credits I saw your name. Were you involved?
I was just tidying stuff up and feeling guilty for not having posted any reviews in a while, when I noticed that I was the #1 most-followed person on Goodreads.I now feel REALLY guilty for not having posted any reviews in a while.
Most of what I'm reading right now is either obscure stuff about China or rather less obscure stuff about Scotland. Otta F Swire's "The Inner Hebrides and their Legends" , and "The Lore of Scotland: A Guide to Scottish Legends" by Westwood and Kingshill.
Thanks for accepting the friend request :] I just wanted to tell you how much I love your stories! They are amazing, as you are. I hope I get the privilege of meeting you someday!
I was at your reading of Odd and the Frost Giants at McNally Robinson in Winnipeg, and it was awesome! You're definitely one of those authors who should do his own audio books, because you have a wonderful reading voice. I've never been so drawn into a story by someone reading to me.It was great to meet you! :-)
hey neil this is branden look me up some times i would love to get to know one of my favorite authors.silver raven
Oh my gosh, I just read on the McNally Robinson website that you're coming to Winnipeg! That's awesome! I haven't had the opportunity to meet many of my favourite authors.

Thank you for wrestling with the blank page and computer screen. My life is richer because of you.
And thank you for Graveyard Book, Neverwhere, Stardust, Coraline (loved the movie btw) and Blueberry Girl, too.
