It was the summer and it was sweltering, and I'd just broken a rather expensive dish that belonged to a rich lady my mom knows. Unlike Sammy, I didn't have the guts to tell her that I broke it. Instead, I threw it away and kept silent. Luckily, I don't think my mom ever asked about what happened to the dish. (less)
