eBook to add to my author's profile

Though I'm listed as the author of the ebook "Magische Geschihten" ISBN 9781458177605, it does not appear among "My works" under my author's profile.
Please add it.

I searched for the ISBN and found the book on your profile. Some pages have a cache, maybe that was the problem.

I checked with another browser and without being logged in. It doesn't appear - no way.
Perhaps the point is, that "Magische Geschichten" - ebook edition - appears to be combined with "Magical Stories"?
Because first I see "9 distinct works"; when I click on "more .." I see only "8 distinct works".
For the sake of discoverability they should be separated.
They also have different ISBNs.

Yes, different editions are part of the same "work." So the English version has been shelved most, so that is the one that displays. If more people shelve the German edition, then that one should be the one showing more prominently. They are still on separate pages and still found as they should be when searching for ISBNs/titles. If you go to the English one, you can click near the top where it says "other editions" and you'll see the others there.

That's not wise, imho. A translation isn't the same work:
Translators get credit and hold the copyright of the translation exactly, because it isn't "the same" - by no means, but a work on its own right. "Schöpfungshöhe".
Otherwise a translation would not be "readable".

I understand a translator translates more than single words, that they translate the meaning behind them as well, to have things come off in the same light as the author intended, etc. But it is still the same story.

I mean, would you seriously rather not have any credit on your page for the English version? You want only the translator credited with writing the story, not merely translating the text?

Annemarie, editions are generally combined for the sake of discoverability. This way, someone who knows what the book is in one language can easily find all of the other languages into which it's been translated, just as they can find all of the narrators who've read it for audiobooks, all of the illustrators who've provided pictures for it, all of the formats in which it's been published, etc.

Mel, of course the translator has to get credits as well as the author.

I suppose, it's internatonal copyright law: whenever Goodreads lists a book that has been translated, goodreads has to name the translator as well as the author.

In Germany translators earn not only a flat rate for literature translations, but get royalties per sale from the moment a book sells a certain number of copies. And of course the name is written at the cpyright page.

But it doesn't apply to my books: I do translations myself. I only need an editor.
