The difference is that Malfoy, for instance, used jinxes to get what he wanted. He used and manipulated people for his own good.Hermione, on the other hand, jinxed Cormac out of her love for Ron, and he deserved it, right?
I'm not saying that what she did was right, but Cormac was a horrible person and Hermione did it for Ron.
You could also put it that Hermione was simply helping out a friend, and putting Cormac in his place. Nobody's perfect, though, so J.K Rowling couldn't have made perfect characters that ALWAYS make the right decisions. I think that Hermione getting Ron to be keeper was showing that she was loosening up a little, and not being so perfect all the time.
I think JK often showed that we are all human and not perfect. I mean look at James, and the fact he was really a bully. But still loved by many, and seen as a bit of a legend.
exactly shes not saying its justified. i think shes just showing that no one is perfect; we all do things we shouldnt.
and Ron is actually a great keeper and with cormac's "i too know" and trying to sort of take over the whole team "which cost them the second match" i am happy Hermione jinxed cormac
We know what happened in the match when Cormac played the seeker...It was for for the good of the team. (At least it turned out that way)

What do y'all say?
