ok I say MAXIMUM RIDE wins Twilight by 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 points!
i have to side with twilight. okay, i love the beginning of the MR series. if we're comparing, say, the first twilight book to the first maximum ride book, then max ride wins. but if we're comparing it as a SERIES ... the twilight series is thought out better, has better structure, better writing, etc. the max ride series starts off great, but goes rapidly downhill, while -- for me, anyway -- twilight remained consistently good.
i don't know i mean i HATE twilight poor story line poor dialoque poor adj. so i side with Maximum Ride
Max wrote: "i don't know i mean i HATE twilight poor story line poor dialoque poor adj. so i side with Maximum Ride"I disagree. I don't think Twilight has a poor story line; it's not a particularly complicated plot, but at least it isn't overcomplicated the way Max Ride is. I agree that the dialogue in Max Ride is better. But over all, Twilight is written better. I mean, it's not written amazingly, but Max Ride sorta reads like a twelve-year-old wrote it -- it's very simplistic and repetitive. But, really, neither one is written very well.
Over all, I think Stephenie Meyer has a better control over her series. She doesn't mix up the plot with a million pointless little twists. There are some ongoing conflicts, but they get solved one way or another in the end. James Patterson, on the other hand, likes to throw in a bunch of meaningless twists, and present and solve them within a single chapter. So you look back on it and you're like, "Wait ... What just happened?!" He has some ongoing conflict as well, but almost none of it gets solved. It just gets shoved off to the side, while he adds new stuff, leaving the reader with a long list of "What about this/that???"
Of course, it depends on who you're asking. I mean, Maximum Ride is a better series if you're, say, in the 10-14 age range or so. If you're 14-15 or older, Twilight will probably appeal to you more. When you're younger, it's harder to connect to all the relationship issues and whatnot. Yes, I know Max Ride has relationships in it (well, ONE relationship, really ...), but it's more like puppy love, with lots of bickering and insecurity, while the stuff in Twilight is more serious.
Sorry that this post is so ridiculously long. lol.
