Nils Krebber | 208 comments Warhammer 40k Orkz have the best guns buy far - a teleporter gun thorugh the void. Everything passing through the void gets incurably insane.

Orc Logic - shoot Goblins (ok, Gretchins) with it INTO the armour of Space Marines. How do you like to share your personal space with a rabid goblin?

Or the pure simplicity of the "Lifta-Droppa". It's a gravity gun. It's used against tanks. The name explains the rest.

Charles Cadenhead (thatcharliedude) | 201 comments Anybody mention the subtle knife yet? A weapon that can cut the fabric of the universes is pretty awesome and not in a good way.

Ayesha (craniumrinse) Are we allowed to mention comic books? Cuz, Iron Man's suit is a pretty cool weapon. Also, Wolverine's bone claws. Jean Grey/Phoenix/Hope Summers' level five psychic powers. Everything that is Collossus. Cable's arm gun. Storm. And I still think walking thru walls would be cool.

Also, to add on to thatCharlieDude, the Scarlet Witch's ability to alter reality.

Ian Roberts | 143 comments My favourite cool weapon has to be the shuriken Ian Cormac uses in the Neal Asher books like Gridlinked. It's a small metal disc that sits in a holster on his wrist that has chain glass blades that extend up to 25cm, it's semi intelligent so can fly around and rip almost anything to pieces.

Very unique and cool, I want one!

Not sure I concur in wanting you to have such a weapon, but ... reminds me of the spinning orb with extending blades that levitated around and shredded people the Tall Man didn't like in those cheap but deeply disturbing 'Phantasm' movies. That seems to be the same connection Tamahome has made in a more visual way ...

Ah, a His Dark Materials fan :)

I'm hoping that's a good thing, Tamahome. I wasn't sure about the provenance of your image, as I remembered blades rather than drill bits. But downloading the picture, I see the title is 'Phantasm_4' -- not sure I got that far with the series. By that point an enhanced onboard armory would be de rigeur.

John (agni4lisva) | 367 comments I am a big fan of the "suits" in Revelation Space

Don one and you can do just about anything you need to. Go into the vacuum of space? Yup. Need to land on a planet? Aha. Atmospheric re-entry required? No problem.

Weapons galore ready to pop out as required from little things that go "pop" to big things that go "BANG". Armour, a forcefield and damage control.

Did I mention a full range of sensors and communication devices. Or that it is capable of independent activity so you can, ahem, have a nap....

The only thing you need to worry about is someone else in a "suit". :-)

Gordon (gordonmcgregor) | 1 comments The lazy gun has always been my favourite, too!
