I don't think Pettyfer would do the role justice-there would be too much focus on Pettyfer and no one would pay attention to anyone else.

@Tirzah, no, but basically every official ish site (IMdB and such) have him rumoured-now, that does not mean it is him, but if you were to put your money on him, you'd have a decent chance at winning. Who knows, maybe it'll be Daniel Newman?(He was the first rumoured and someone posted he was Finnick on IMdB a couple months ago. It was random, and the site took it down though)

You're not alone. Garrett Hedlund should play Finnick. I won't die if its Alex Pettyfer (not that it will be since he says he won't be doing anymore YA adaptions), but Sam.....when the official casting come out...if its Sam....I will literally start a petition against it.

I actually really like Garrett Hedlund as an actor and I think he would do a great job as the strong, charismatic Finnick. I'm hoping Pettyfer isn't cast because he doesn't seem to have enough personality for this role.

I would be curious to see their auditions. I found myself not thinking that Peeta "looked" the part at first in the first movie, but then I think he did a great job. They did good in casting with the first one, so I trust that they are picking the best person for the part, even if their look isn't what everyone thinks it should be. I think once we see him act and get in character that he will be great in transforming into the hunky Finnick that we know :)

Funny, because I don't think Zac Effron is the most gorgeous, sexiest person to play Finnick in the fictional world. I find Sam much sexier. "Sexiness" is subjective, and I really think that his acting will have to pull it off well. Just like when you know someone who, on the outside it beautiful but is a real b*tch? Suddenly they are hideous. Same for vice versa. Someone you are not initially attracted to could be the most amazing person (like Peeta's character in the first movie, who I wasn't attracted to at first). I saw Sam in Pirates and fell in love with his character. Hopefully everyone will give him a chance.

I'm 50/50 w/ Sam...Finnick is supposed to be good looking, and Sam is...good that he is English, but I don't kno...,I feel as though somethings of about him....I mean that he won't fit Finnick's role....Tom Felton woud be great for the part...good looking, and he's British, but he does a killer American accent so I would make him American...yip I like Tom better for the part.

Imdb is not official for casting cuz its user updated and a bunch of people put who they want, not who was cast, even before casting is announced. Lionsgate is the one making the movie so I trust them lol. So now imdb is actually accurate.

I was hoping for Garrett H. Because I really liked his acting skills. And yes Sam Claflin is the official movie Finnick. I agree that Alex Pettyfer would have been horrible as Finnick. He may have the looks, but he is not a good actor, especially trying to do an American accent, awful. But I really hope that Sam C. will surprise us and make us fall in love with whatever way he presents Finnick. I'm pretty sure we all have some high standards...

But, he deserves the benefit of the doubt, right? So I'm giving him a chance, and if he screws Finnick up, I am going to kill him personally.
