I've signed up for kdp Select and have 5 days to list my book for free. Any advice on which days and how many days in a row? Avoid holidays? Run all five days at once?
Also, advice needed to where to promote days.
Thanks for your help.

Randy Mixter | 6 comments I usually run the promotions in two separate chunks. The first for two days (a non-holiday weekend), the second for three days (Friday through Sunday). I separate the promotions by at least 45 days. Contact all the webpages you can that promote free kindle days (including Facebook). This is important if you want readers to find you. It's worth the time and effort. A book placement on a good site like Pixel Of Ink can get you thousands of downloads in one day.

Thank you Randy. The specific advice helps. Hope your sales went up after the free days.

Jim (myrmidude) | 13 comments I would not run all days in a row again. I saw a huge spike in downloads and sales, and got ranked higher, but it didn't last.

Next time I'll choose specific days, perhaps relating to an in-person promoted event or some significant date, and only do one day at a time.
