I read their reasons and still think they're idiots. I wouldn't want to make fan girls mad either, it'd cause a riot and they would loose a portion of their fans. And I'm sure they declined respectfully and that they aren't just anti-white house.
Think of it this way. You get invited to go to your friends house but you are already having a party or something that day. Personally I'd say I'm busy feel free to join me. In my opinion I think that's what they should have done, asked if the presidential family wanted to accompany them to Australia to see them on tour instead of just saying thanks but no thanks.

I suppose they could have… but either way, I highly doubt they would have had the time to accompany them anyway. The children might have, but the parents… I know Obama has better things to do than go to a One Direction concert, and not just better things, but important things. Michelle was possibly busy, too.Though inviting them would have been a thoughtful idea.
Right, they'd probably turn down but it's nice to be asked. But you're right, they did have a good reason to deny because fans are the only reason celebrities are celebrities.

That is so not true. But...Louis. I've had my suspicious that he was gay at one point or another. Maybe his relationship with Eleanor is just a cover, because if all the fan girls find out he's gay...there will be an uproar. I don't know...haha I'm just guessing.

I'm not that big of a directioner. I have their Up All Night album but I don't know EVERYTHING about them. They're cool to follow info on cause they're funny. And of course, they're just 18-20 year olds. It's not like everyone that age has got their heads screwed on right.As for the convo on top. Well, most of the songs in the world are about love as it's passionate and sad. It's what many people can relate to and what you can relate most to about. I wouldn't hate on them just cause they have lots of love songs.
And technically, out of 13 songs. Not all of them are about being happy in love either and if you're annoyed at their preppy boy band tune, they have some different sounding songs like Stole My Heart. My non directioner friends couldn't recognise this as being sung by an artist they hate.
Not wanting to lecture. Just to inform. PS I adore classical music too. There's room for everything on earth. :)

Do not get them wrong, they think well of the White House and their inhabitants, but they were probably just not keen on displeasing thousands and perhaps millions of fans who had paid money for tickets.
