Question/problem about an author name

I have found that accented characters are not always respected by the system. As such to the database "a" and "á" are sometimes treated the same. For you to get it to work reliably you need to input "Matéi Visniec" as "Matéi^^Visniec" to get the system to accept it all the time.
Edited to add: Where ^=space

What is interesting is that the double space doesn't appear, wow! :)

I noticed that, in France, they call him Matéi Visniec, so I contacted him and asked him about this difference in names. He told me that he signs the works published in French by the name Matéi Visniec, while his official name is Matei Vișniec.
I wanted to add Matéi Visniec as a second author for the books that are published in France and thus create a profile for the French readers.
The problem is that, after I add the second author and hit save, there is still only one author on the book page. Could it be that the names are too similar, or is there another aspect of this problem that I don't know?
