Family: His adoptive parents Amanda and Andrew; also, he has three adoptive sisters named Agnes (13), Alexandria (13, Agnes' twin), and Alisyn (20). But his actual biological parents are full blood wizards, and so are his adoptive ones too! Cool, right?
History: When Alex was first born, his mother died of a very bad illness not even magic could cure. That, and the fact she got shot in the head. Anyways, his father raised him until he was four, but then was overtaken with anxiety and felt the need to just get away and start over. Without his son. So, he left him outside an orphange and drove off, heading to the states to just get away from it all. Alex didn't know what was going on, so he never went inside the building. There he was, in the rain with no food or water or any comunication with any other living person, when someone finally opened the door and took a sleeping Alexander into the orphange, giving him a bed. He stayed there for years, until he was ten, which was when Amanda and Andrew adopted him. That was when he started the street magic to get extra money for a Dr. Suess book he wanted. That didn't go well with his adoptive parents. At all. They took away all his fake magic exquitement and broke the news to him that he was a wizard and that they were too. That didn't suprise him. He always somehow knew things like that were real. And, at that moment, he was sure of it. When the letter from Hogwarts came, Amanda and Andrew were so excited and sent him off as soon as they could, making sure they weren't late and had everything. Now he's here, and ready to learn.
