Congrats, Lynai. For me, it is a very sad story especially when Alex's tone (in his letter) begins to change. But I love his character because it is multi-dimensional.

WAAAAHHHH!!! :(( There must be something wrong with me. I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME UNDERSTAND THE STORY. I am not that illuminated at all. I think the book begs for a re-read, but I don't have much time in my hands, I might as well consult Wikipedia. Let's see if I'll change my rating after that.

The family line. Who says what. Actually, I an confused with the several story arcs. But I've read Wikipedia and plot summaries online, so I think mas naging clearer na ngayon. Still, I am not changing my stars. It stays 3 stars. :D

I liked it because it is clever, but not too much to be amazed. As you said, masyadong halata ang effort ni JSF to be original in this debut novel. Reading it was laborious for me. Maybe I am not yet ready for hard reading like this?

Lynai, to each his own pa rin. May mga librong parang di sakto sa panlasa mo, tapos sa iba, maganda. Kasi we bring all of our own experiences when we read it. So, I would not say that you are not yet ready for something like this. You will always be my friend even if we don't have the same rating. :)
