Bruce just stood there and stared over at Penny, almost sadly. He stuck his hands into his pockets and sighed.

Penny looked up at Bruce with wide eyes. "Why did you leave me?" She said quietly, her eyes filling with tears. "Papa always leaves me. Not you too." Lily stiffened and looked away when her husband was mentioned.
Bruce was startled. He blinked over at Penny and tilted his head to the side. "I'm sorry," He said quietly. "I just don't like to be kept in a cage. I've had enough of that." He shot Lily a look but then turned back to her daughter. "It's not a good feeling."
Penny glanced at her mother. "Will you let Brucey go?" She asked her. Lily snarled something vile under her breath, glaring at Bruce like it was his fault her daughter had daddy issues. "That wasn't exactly part of the plan." She muttered.
Penny held her arms out towards Bruce so he could pick her up.
((I'm thinking about making Penny 'good' when she gets older and joining the Avengers.))
((I fully support that idea. ._. That would be epic.))Bruce ignored Lily and leaned down, picking Penny up under her arms and boosting her up so she was against his shoulder. "Not a very good plan." He grunted.
Lily hissed furiously. "Penny, is this really what you want?" She said to her daughter. Penny smiled toothily (her teeth were starting to grow in more) and looked at Bruce. "Can I come to HQ to visit?" She asked timidly.

Bruce's head wobbled undecidedly for a moment before deciding the nod was best form. "Yes," He said, shrugging. "I would like that." More or less the truth...
Penny bounced happily. "Yay! Then yes, Mama, please let him go." She said, looking hard at her mother. It was the first time she ever questioned what her mother told her.Lily was stunned. She stammered something incoherent then said; "Loki will be upset, Penelope." She said slowly.
Penny shrugged. "I don' care. I haven't even met Woki."
Lily gasped in horror. "It's Lord Loki, Penny." She whispered urgently, as if the very walls were listening.
Penny shrugged again, hugging Bruce's neck. "Whatever." She giggled.
Bruce held Penny a little closer, surprised but not upset at all with this development. He watched Lily carefully as he exchanged his glace between mother and daughter every minute or so.
Lily opened her mouth to say something, probably to convince her daughter to see some sense, when all of the sudden, the wall nearest them exploded and a car crashed through.A very familiar black and red car....
Penny jumped and shrieked, holding onto Bruce tightly.
Natasha stumbled out of the car, sunglasses on her eyes. She looked around, completely calm and composed.
Lily stared in shock.
Bruce has jumped back, not letting go of Penny as the wall was flung in pieces everywhere. He saw Natasha climb out and his knees went weak with relief. "Great timing," He breathed, striding over quickly.
Penny was still with Bruce. "Are we going on a car ride?!" She said excitedly. Lily's eyes widened further. "Penny?" She squeaked, her face looking crestfallen. Was her own daughter choosing the Avengers over her own mother?
Natasha said nothing about Penny and climbed back into the car, gesturing for Bruce to get in quickly.
Bruce paused for a moment before getting in, realizing Penny was still in his arms. He hesitated for an awkwardly long moment and then slowly detatched her from around his neck, setting her down onto the ground. He then clambered into the car, but kept the door open, glancing out at Penny undecidedly.
Penny looked disappointed when Bruce set her down but she grinned when he held the door open. She glanced back at her mother, who was holding her bleeding head where a rock from the explosion had hit her. Penny's smile faded and she turned to Bruce. "I better stay here. But I had fun." She told him, walking backwards towards her mother. "I'll visit when I can. You can help me with the neuron brain sensor."
Natasha tapped her knuckles to the car wheel impatiently, confused but irritated.
Bruce didn't know whether to be dissapointed or not. So he simply shrugged and snapped the car door shut, slipping his seatbelt on for good measure. "Okay, go." He said quickly, glancing back out the rear windshield at the gaping hole behind them.
Natasha backed up the car, peeling away from the hideout and onto the street, picking up speed until she was nearly doing 100 MPH. "What was that all about?" She muttered, looking straight ahead. "You're friends with the demon baby now?"
Lily sank with relief, dropping to her knees and holding her arms out. Penny ran into them and hugged her mom. "I'm sorry." She mumbled.
"It's okay." Lily said stiffly. "As long as you're here now."
Bruce looked over at her, his eyebrows arched and set in a way that was both confused and exasperated. "I don't know," He began. "But I think she's friends with me, anyway." He sat back in his seat and took a deep breath, letting it out all at once. "Thanks."
"Mhm hmm. Told you I would get you out." Natasha muttered, cranking up the speed until they got to HQ.((to HQ?))
Bruce nodded, not really feeling like smiling but happy he could trust her anyway. "Never doubted you for a second."((Hq ho!))
