Bruce gasped, clutching at his throat as he gulped air thankfully.

Noir froze where she stood, standing stock-still. Her mouth opened and closed silently as a cold brick of dread plummeted down into heart. Then suddenly her face twisted, becoming rigid and terrible in a picture of rage. She turned slowly, staring at Natasha with iridescent eyes swirling malignantly. "You b*tch." She whispered. A slow and creeping smoke grew out of nowhere over the entire floor. Noir seemed to grow dark as demonic shadows nestled over her, like a possesed toy. She didn't move or say anything, but black arms lashed suddenly out of the smoke and wrapped themselves around Natasha, squeezing her and burning her with a terrible, foul smelling poison.

Bruce ducked as shots rang out, trying not to cough in the odd smoke. He looked up, trying to figure out what had just happened and why Natasha was firing erratically. Seeing the venomous tentacles attacking Natasha, he stumbled to his feet and launched himself at Noir.

She fell, but went down kicking. Literally. A foot got him in the face and a sinuous black tongue curled around the man's upper body, flinging him back. It wrapped around him, holding him steady and firmly without seeping poison. The arms around Natasha slipped off and dissapeared, leaving the smoking woman alone while Noir was distracted.

Lily looked up from her hiding spot and saw Noir's predicament. She stepped over the still writhing Thomas and calmly sliced Natasha's forehead with a poisonous claw. Natasha screamed as her forehead sizzled and burned.

Noir screamed. It wasn't a common, shrill like scream. It was the sound of many voices all screaming at once. Many different tones and lengths, but all had the same reason for crying out. Simple pain. Noir collapsed to her knees in her swiftly receding magical smoke, staring at the ground in tragic shock.

The arms around Bruce loosened a little and he began to struggle, trying to pry his arms out.

Penny had somehow escaped the room her mother had put her in for safety and was walking over to them in the midst of the chaos.

Finally, the tongues around Bruce shrunk and dissapeared along with the smoke. He got to his feet, breathing heavy. The glass cage slowly dematerialized, shimmering into nothingness and the room stood bare - devoid of Noir's magic. The girl's eyes were glazing over as she slumped against the wall.

While Lily was distracted, Natasha kicked her feet out and made the cat girl fall. Quickly, before the poison fully sunk in, she pulled a gun out of her belt and stood, pointing it first at Lily, then at her daughter. Penny stopped.
Natasha reached out and grabbed the little girl, holding her up. "One more move and the child dies." She said to Lily, holding the gun to Penny's head. Penny whimpered.

Lily's face paled and her eyes turned a swirling red. She blew off her panic by forcing herself to smile at Natasha wickedly. "You wouldn't shoot a child, Widow." She said quietly, gazing into Natasha's eyes. "She's really just a baby. How could you murder a baby?"
Natasha's expression flickered to uncertainty but she didn't release Penny or loosen her hold on the gun.

Bruce stopped, catching an idea on the situation. He looked back and forth between Natasha and the cat girls. He didn't know what to do so stayed still, just watching.
