Nick was shaking and his skin was...warm. It was never warm, it was supposed to be cold at all times. His throat was raw so he couldn't make words and he just stared at Noir, his lip trembling. His forehead was slick with sweat, his hair sticking to it.

Noir swallowed, trying to hide her concern. She reached over and grabbed a small towel from her single nightstand - the towel for which she kept for times when her memories dripped. It was dry now, though, and she ran it across his face to get rid of the perspiration.
Nick reached up and stopped her hand feebly. "Please don't." He said quietly. "It's just the silver in my system. It'll leave soon."
Lily whimpered a little on Mason's bed.
Mason looked back at Lily,"Lily?"
Out of respect, Noir nodded silently and put it away; squeezing his shoulder lightly. "You're going to be alright, then?" She asked, pulling her hand back slowly.

Lily wasn't looking at him. She wasn't looking at anything. "Please don't." She jerked her arm over her stomach, as if protecting it from something. "Don't take the baby." She whispered.

Lily started crying. She was awake now. She buried her face in her hands, ashamed and frightened.

Nick smiled at Noir, now that he was able to. The silver was almost gone and his strength was returning. The shadows in the room swished happily and ruffled up his hair like long lost friends. "Good. We'll have our revenge." His eyes glittered dangerously.

Lily retracted her claws grudgingly. She stared at the blood momentarily before lifting Mason's hand and licking it away.

Noir kissed him back, very glad that he was getting well again. She suddenly noticed the shadows and frowned curiously. "They're doing that an aweful lot, hey?" She commented casually, nodding to the blueness.
Mason watched her and sighed,"I know that saying it's ok isn't the right thing to say but what I do know is that I would never let anyone hurt you anymore.I know you can take care of yourself but no matter what I will and that includes the baby.I'd kill before I let anyone touch it."Mason said looking toward the door then back at Lily,"I'm not sure how I can help with nightmares or pain but it's something we'll figure out.Ok?"

"What's the matter?" Noir tore her gaze from the shadows to look at him.
Nick ignored her question and kissed her again, drawing her down onto the bed with him. Thank heavens he wasn't sweating anymore; his skin had already cooled back to normal.
Noir blinked in surprise, but kissed him back; taking that as a sign that he was feeling better after all.((Lol))
((Hehehe!))Nick let her go, smiling knowingly. The shadows around him changed colors rapidly.
Noir smiled back, pulling her hair behind her ears. She glanced up at the colors, looking back down at Nick curiously.

She shrugged, leaning back. "Sure, I guess."
Nick stood, about to take a step forward when his legs gave out beneath him. The shadows turned black again and writhed angrily. "Sh*t." Nick swore, holding the leg he had gotten shot.
Noir grimaced, catching his shoulder as he shifted suddenly. Easing him slowly back onto the bed, she sighed. "Not quite perfect." She said, eyeing the leg had favoured. "What about I bring you something, then?" She smiled half-heartedly as she hugged her left side.
"You don't have to." Nick mumbled. He hated being babied over; it made him feel useless.
"I know." She said simply. "But I want to." Noir tapped her foot. "There're sandwiches from yesterday still in the fridge." She offered, remembering slowly. The contents were of a dry composition, so they would still be good.
