After Noir had finished her shower, she used a spell too dry herself off and dressed without the angering age-old stickiness complaint. She walked back out into the Hideout living area, feeling a lot better.

Thomas was drinking tea and sitting at the table, reading the newspaper. He looked up when Noir came in. "Hey." He said, looking down again.

Noir paused when she saw Thomas. "Hello." She finally said, walking over to the pantry and pulling out some of their neverending supply of oreo cookies. She sat down opposite of Thomas and began her ritual of seperating the parts into piles.
"Thomas," she said without looking up. "I want to ask you something."

Thomas glanced up again and put his newspaper down. "Yes?" He raised his eyebrows curiously. He swiped an oreo for himself and bit into it, without taking it apart.

Noir grimaced as Thomas ate his cookie whole, swallowing her desire to tell him how to properly eat an oreo. She laced her fingers and looked st him ponderously. "Do you eat vegetables?" She asked with sincere curiosity.

Thomas suddenly choked on the oreo, coughing and hacking to get it out. "Gah!" He clears his throat, looking at Noir. "Um...yes?"

Noir watched him choke, leaning back in her chair to avoid him.
"Oh, ok. Just curious." She shrugged once he had answered and went back to her cookies.

Thomas laughs, taking another Oreo and pulling it apart this time. "Okay then. I'm not a cannibal, by the way." He adds, licking the cream off of the cookie. "I don't care for things like lettuce or spinach, because it feels like I'm eating my own hair. But things like carrots, corn, peppers, squash, etc. are fine."

Noir snorted, laughing. "I don't I would like that either." She agreed.

Nick was sitting in the corner of the room, almost completely masked by the shadows surrounding him. He watched Noir and Thomas bemusedly, his book on the floor next to him.

Noir played with her cookie pieces in distraction, oblivious to Nick.

Nick smiled, his eyes on Noir. One of his shadows creeped up behind her, a tendril of black smoke picking up one of her cookies silently and pulling it back to Nick.

Noir felt the chill of the dark magic behind her and smirked as it picked up a cookie. "Alright, Nick." She called smiling. "You can come out now."

Noir flushed and smiled shyly over at Nick. She played with her hair, trying to avoid Thomas's gaze. "Nick..." She called in a low voice, her amusement quiet obvious.

Thomas glanced between them back and forth. "You two make a cute couple." He takes a sip of his tea.

"You're being silly." Noir said to Nick, leaning back in her chair leisurely. "Come sit, already!" She patted the chair next to her and then turned to Thomas. "Oh, no." Noir made a face. "Anything but cute."

Nick stood and approached them, dark shadows literally swirling around him. He sat next to Noir, giving her a quick peck on the cheek.
Thomas raised an eyebrow, watching the shadows. "Yeah...I guess dark would be a better word."

Noir smirked at Thomas, agreeing. "There, much better." She turned and smiled at Nick, ignoring his shadows.

Nick grinned back at her. "Wanna go out?" He asks, fingering a cookie but not eating it. "It seems quiet here...Too quiet."

Nick looked thoughtful. "I think the madness will drive her over the edge itself. Give it a couple more days and she'll either die or the madness will consume her. And as for Hulk...he's always pretty easy to infuriate."

"What about that Jasper girl? Isn't her madness becoming stronger? She constantly needs blood transfusions but she's getting tired of it." Nick says, smiling slightly.
