Anna Wadlow (awadlow42) | 226 comments Can we read one with a guitar on the cover since he plays the acoustic guitar...just an idea.

message 302: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Sure.

message 303: by Vi (new)

Vi Oh, I see. I haven't actually seen it yet so I didn't know. Thanks willa! I will check it out.

willaful wrote: "I think 163 is an overstatement, it's a novella. My ebook of it is 113 pages, plus a lot of extra excerpts from other books."

Sure, CaroB. I will probably get to it today. If it's more a novella, then I'll let you know.

CaroB wrote: "if it does end up being more of a novella with a whole bunch of excerpts, as willaful says, can you let me know (in case I get asked again in future) and swap books please? "

message 304: by willaful (new)

willaful I'm wondering if I can count Some Assembly Required A Journal of My Son's First Son by Anne Lamott . The author is very religious and often views events as divine intervention.

message 305: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Sure Willa, would you be able to include a quote for the song link?

message 306: by willaful (new)

willaful I think so. Here's one I've come across: "Sam said he felt as if he's just been Tasered, but in a good way -- a God shot. He thought, Are these guys my Eskimo? (referring to a previous story about God sending someone in need an Eskimo.) Sam looked inward and wondered whether these guys had anything to do with his prayer for a cougar five minutes before, whether God had gotten His signals crossed, but he decided to trust his gut that this is what God had sent in place of that."

message 307: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Definitely fits the Divine Intervention link!

message 308: by willaful (new)

willaful Great, thanks!

message 309: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 337 comments I'm thinking of reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll . The Mad Hatter wears a hat on the cover. This version has both Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Wonderland doesn't have enough pages but the whole book with both stories is over 200pages. Would this count?

message 310: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 728 comments I've finished my book: Tiger's Destiny

see post 188..Knockin' on Sevens Door! lol

message 311: by Anna (new)

Are you reading both stories? If you're reading the whole book, there's no probs Melissa.

message 313: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 337 comments Thanks! I plan on reading both :)

message 314: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments FYI: Due to special circumstances for one of the players on team 6, the rest of the team have agreed to alternate reading an extra book until the end of week 5. If we've not heard from Laura by then, I will find a new player to join that team from the beginning of week 6. I've inserted a note in the spreadsheet to reflect these changes.

message 322: by Lina (last edited Oct 03, 2012 03:45AM) (new)

Lina | 5563 comments hmmm. sorry ladies... *trying to think*

Anything about renewal in that?

Otherwise, check out the lyrics and see if there's anyway you can link it from those?

message 323: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments According to these lyrics....

Didn't know how lost I was
Until I found you

I was beat incomplete
Id been had, I was sad and blue
But you made me feel
Yeah, you made me feel
Shiny and new

Wouldn't they apply to Reflected in You? Both Gideon and Eva were lost till they found each other and from what we got of Gideon's background in the first book, he didn't really do relationships until Eva came along and made him feel. Or am I stretching it? LOL

Lina | 5563 comments Susan, from the GR synopsis: "...My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. I think that links with the above lyrics, so yes, I'll take that.

message 325: by Elishia (new)

Elishia | 2620 comments Ha ha ha Susan, I thought the same thing. I never look at the lyrics but was really trying to fit this one in. I have one other option but waiting to find out if he's a virgin coz I can't remember if it was mentioned in the earlier books.

Melissa | 337 comments Would Archangel's Kiss (Guild Hunter, #2) by Nalini Singh work? A new beginning since she wakes up as an angel?

message 329: by Lina (last edited Oct 04, 2012 01:49PM) (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Yes, that's definitely a renewal of some kind.

message 331: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments It's almost time for a new song. Mr. R, could you make it where a time travel book would fit, or Infinite Days (Vampire Queen, #1) by Rebecca Maizel would fit? That's what I need to read for Bingo and the Hearts and Tears Game LOL

message 332: by Elishia (new)

Elishia | 2620 comments Lol I want Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth to fit in.

message 333: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 337 comments LOL I'm up for anything. My TBR pile is almost overflowing. But I would like to read Splintered by A.G. Howard since I got a copy from netgalley and haven't read it yet.

message 334: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments no no I need vampires!! I need to read:
Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #5) by J.R. Ward for bookshelf bingo's vampire shelf and the Hearts & Tears game for a 400+ page book.

message 335: by willaful (last edited Oct 09, 2012 01:45PM) (new)

willaful Heh, we all need paranormal reads. I have a parnormal challenge for October and I haven't read one book for it. Just not in the mood.

message 336: by Elishia (new)

Elishia | 2620 comments ha ha ha I'm already reading my bingo book but I need one for Hearts & Tears so hoping I can use one book.

Elishia | 2620 comments i'm comparing our books to see if anything jumps out.

message 341: by willaful (new)

willaful I'm doing genre switches. Read a general fiction book and am now reading nonfiction. Sick unto death of romance.

never "sick" of romance...just whether it is historical, mystery, humour, british, or other "type" of romance....can't read the same all the time...but being a "hopeless romantic"...I kind of see romance everywhere!!! lol

Aww, ShoSho, I'll keep my fingers crossed that something turns the tide for you soon. I'd throw a good book at you, but I think it would hurt and I don't know what you'd like :-(

As for everyone else, you cheeky whatsits, trying to put in requests from Mr Randomizer... I'll tell you what I tell my three kids: YOU GET WHAT YOU GET AND YOU DON'T GET UPSET. *sticks out tongue* so nuh :-D

Twelve and a half hours til new song time!
