There are 2 books listed here on goodreads, both under the name Francine Homberger.

Carny Folk: The World's Weirdest Sideshow Acts
Mistresses of Mayhem: The Book of Women Criminals

Unfortunately the author's name is spelled incorrectly, because her name is Francine Hornberger.
