Its a book about a man who reconsiders taking final vows to be a monk when he reunites with an old flame. I remember he and the girl on a boat at one point. It takes place near a lake or the ocean. I remember something about a shopkeeper who knows everyone in the small town. I Probably read this book around 2003 or so. I think there was a lifetime movie made about it. I can't think of the title and its driving me crazy!! Thanks!
