Imports updating authors to "Various"

There are a number of books listed under the primary author "Various" which were clearly* edited by a librarian at some point and then later had their primary author changed:

* It's pretty clear. I'm looking at author lists like "Various (Editor), Michael Sampson (Editor), Eric Carle (Foreword)" or "Various (Adapted by), Robert Roper (Illustrator), Leslie Valdes (Adapted by), Susan Hall (Illustrator)".

1) Can someone check behind the scenes to see if this sort of importer update can be prevented? Maybe not update authors with librarian-assigned roles?

2) Does anyone want to help with fixing some of these books?

It looks like onix and ingram have been fighting over some of these.

Sort of related, I've merged these funny variants of various into the proper various.

At the moment I am getting errors when moving authors up/down so I'll settle down later and get stuck in.

ETA: Sheesh! I'm fixing a couple of pages a day, but I come back each morning and find more have been added - truly sisyphusian! (just made up a word....)

I checked with Chase, who has done most of the recent work with the importers. First of all, any author changes that happened more than about 6 weeks ago are as a result of logic that has been changed.

And any odd authors that are importing with new entries can't really be prevented. All our sources have some bad data mixed in with the good. That's just the nature of things, and one of the many reasons GR has librarians!

However, if anyone sees any new changes of existing authors to Various, or any new imports that look like they might be examples of this sort of thing, please send me a message and DON'T edit the book/author in question.
