Effy | 25 comments When a story is too short for publication, often enough other stories are added on. So when i bought The Legend of the Sleepy Hallow I was surprised to see it was with other stories. When i finish the main story can I consider it finished as I hadn't planned on reading the other stories in the book?

What do you think?

Cheryl For me, I need to read the whole thing for it to count.

You should have bought a version of the story that was published separately from the others stories so that you could count it ;)

In this challenge, you may make your own rules. However, I would not count it. I usually don't count children's books either, but I think I had to count 1 last year to make the goal. I'm pretty sure I cheated.

Rose (obsessedreader9) | 215 comments A short story is not a book. A collection of short stories is a book. So I would not count "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" unless I read the other stories as well.

Diane (readingrl) | 130 comments Effy, this is your challenge; you can decide what counts! :)
Some members count audiobooks, but most of the time I do not. My husband does not count the books I read aloud to him, but those are really the only books he's read this year so... ;)
Each of us in this group has set a reading challenge for ourselves for our own personal reasons. Some of us want to just read more, and others have set specific reading goals in mind. I guess the question you need to ask yourself is if you have met the goal you set for yourself.
The nice thing about goodreads is the search feature in which you can find many, many editions and versions of books. You can search a stand alone book of Sleepy Hollow and count that if you would prefer rather than your edition.
