I'm super excited! Almost makes me want to get up a little early tomorrow to see what the item is. However, I doubt that'll happen since it's hard enough for me to get up at my normal time every morning. lol
I loved Riley! I devoured that series one book after the next years ago. I was sad to see it end. When you finish Ez try her spin off series with Risa. It's good too.
I have all 3 ready to go. I plan on racing through this series too. Jenne, I see that we like the same kind of books. I will go and raid your TBR pile for more buddy reads
I love Riley too. She was my first fling into PNR. I need to finish it up. I think I got to number 7.
I don't know about the whole series, but I have the first Riley book on audio. It was an experience, I listened to it at work. My first experience with romance sex scenes. I am sure I sat there with a blush all day at work. I've gotten much better at my poker face.

Have you tried audio.com it is a sister company to Amazon?

LOL!!!
Try listening to some of the BDB books on audio.
I keep hearing in my head "you taste like peaches. I love peaches." (Wrath to Beth)
I actually checked out the kindle versions and they are $7.99 each which to me is too much money. (I'm really cheap). I use the library pretty much exclusively. Some of my favorite audio books would be the Harry Potter books with Jim Dale narrating. The Help and The Book Thief were wonderful in audio. Sometimes the narrator can really make the book special. Of course all of those books were pretty special anyway.

After perfecting my poker face I did move on to those in audio. I eventually got my cube mate to listen to Dark Hunters with me so I didn't feel bad I was the only one getting smutty at work.
Sheila I am not sure about the library systems where you are. I live out in the middle of almost nowhere so I belong to 3 different libraries in the Denver area. One is over 40 miles away so I never really go to the building but they are a bigger library district and have TONS of stuff on audio or e-book. You might consider joining other libraries in your area to see if it will increase your kindle selection. I am a book cheepie too. If I don't earn a gift card or get it as a gift I usually don't buy books, they all come from the libraries.

I'm pretty lucky my husband and I put all of our business expenses on American express )(which is usually enough to warrant heart attack stage each month lol) then I use my points for books. I havent paid for a book in years.
That is sweet Jenne. Nice perk.Lizz and Dawn I have access to tons of audiobooks and books through my library, It is in an interlibrary system with something like 40 other libraries in a bistate area. All I have to do is go online to the catalog, request what I want and usually within 2 or 3 days it arrives at my local library which is very conveniently located about 2 blocks from my house.
The new stuff is quite a wait though. I have acquired patience through the library queues!
They are just now getting into the kindle lending thing and actually I am just now getting into the kindle reading thing. My kids got me a kindle for my 60th birthday last year and since I bought myself a fire. I can already see it is a real advantage to be able to search for particular word for a scavenger hunt.

That is why I love my kindle so much easier searching for words

I don't search but I love the highlight feature as I read so I don't have to stop and make notes on an index card book mark any more. Then at the end all my items are right there on a list for me. I have no idea why I resisted getting a kindle for so long. If I am not using it chances are one of my kids is.
I love the kindle because it defines words for me. At least I feel smarter as my vocabulary increases
I don't know how to do the highlight feature with either kindle but now I know how to search! I'm one of those -never read the manual- type people. I can sure see that audiobooks are going to be a hindrance for the scavanger hunt though. Hear the word, rewind, write down the sentence and then continue. Pain in the ....
Sheila wrote: "I don't know how to do the highlight feature with either kindle but now I know how to search! I'm one of those -never read the manual- type people. .."I have a Kindle Fire and I just have to touch the word and it opens a pop up box with a definition and the option to highlight, add a note or search the web.
I use it to look up definitions a lot too.
I use the dictionary tool for the kindle a lot too. With English being my second language, it's a godsend sometimes!
I figured out how to highlight with both the kindle and the fire. The highlights only sync to the fire though for me. Highlights I make on the fire are not showing up on the regular kindle. Oh well. The highlighting will definitely help with the scavenger hunt info.
It's the land of a thousand contrasts Jenne, and most of them beautiful. Very blessed to live here. I'd love to go travelling for holidays, but don't see me ever living anywhere else.Unless it was Disneyworld, of course :-)
Jenne wrote: "Yep the kindle is the best invention in the world!"I own a kindle, but I prefer holding the physical copy in my hands while reading more than I would a kindle, but don't get me wrong! I still like using a kindle.

I'm kinda the same way Dawn! If I'm not sure about a book, I look to see if my library has it and check them out. If I end up really liking the book and wanting more, then I'll buy the whole series because I have limited space in my bedroom which is one of the main reasons why I own a Kindle Touch.
Thanks to Alyssa for the reminder. I guess a thread to announce items would be a good thing. I will post the item here. http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
Easy start! I bet 95% of books have the word bed in them. So now since a THING was called, then we would want to find people, places and colors correct for our bonuses? And then in addition after this week we would never be using BED as a thing to claim in future books. Do I have this right Dawn?
Yes, Sheila. You can find 1 person, 1 place and 1 color this week in addition to bed. And you can only find the items once.
Sheila wrote: "Thanks Dawn, Hopefully that will be my last inane question for you."No worries, I'd rather you all ask than get to the end of the week and not post the right things.
After the first week it should be clear to everyone. As I've said lots of times before. It is super easy to play, a lot harder to explain.
Jenne wrote: "Thanks Amy!"You're welcome! I know this just started, but I'm already looking forward to next round! Hopefully, everything will all or almost all sorted in my life by then!
Alright now that the game is underway and items can start to be claimed I wanted to point out the section of the rules with how to claim your items. Once all team members have read the book and posted a short review (review must be posted in the thread not a link) the team will receive a point for the item. (Your review must include the weekly item you are reading for, a link to the book, the date you read the book, a 1-5 star level and at least 2 sentences then any other items you are claiming) You must start reading the book after the item is called.
Here is an example of what it should look like, or something of the like. It doesn't have to be exact, just enough that I can tell the diference between talking about the book and your post to claim the items. The post should be in your teams thread,
Finished Bed Item 8/30/12
Werewolf in Seattle, Vicki Lewis Thompson 3 1/2 stars
This was the third book in the series and while I liked the story the characters were a little to cheesy. But I am anxiously awaiting the release of the 4th book next month.
