From my debut novel, The Ritual (yes, I know it's two lines, sorry):Concentrate, steady, stay relaxed. My mantra ran through my head in a constant litany, more out of habit than out of a real need to focus on the words.
From the sequel, The Conspiracy (out soon):
The knife handle rested in my slightly sweaty palm, and I shifted my grip so it felt more comfortable, though I remained in my low crouch and never took my eyes off my opponent.
Sandy wrote: "All 3 WIPDonovan: "What is the matter, Alexiss? Did you lose your keys again?"
Sebastian: "Daddy," I whisper as my tears fell, "please don't leave me."
Viktor: For some reason I am drawn to ..."
For a second I thought those were the beginning of one book, which was intriguing. Is it going to be surreal? Very complex plot that would make all that make sense? I love it. (except for the verb agreement thing)
"There's no rhyme nor reason to it. your destiny is already laid doon."First line of :
The First Blast of the Trumpet
First line of my second book, The Ultimate Tree House Project!“Have a good day at school, James!” called out his mother as he closed the front door.
“Come on man, where the hell are you? I don't give a shit. It's been hours. Fine. Whatever.” from So Many Reasons WhyAnd from my upcoming novel, Desire:
“Disappeared?”
“Yes. As in vanished. Gone.” I threw him a look. I knew what it meant.
"It wasn’t anywhere near noon, and Beth Lowe already had a sneaking suspicion her day was about to go down the drain."
Catherine wrote: "On the 14th of April, 1920, Chrissie Reid received a letter from a dead man.The broken Horizon"
This sounds intriguing.
From my WIP:American Wilderness
Spring, 1773
The Englishman arrived in the Enchanted Lands on the same day I nearly killed my favorite clan-brother; the same day my father informed me I was being sent to Savannah.
The first line from my historical novel, "Crossing the River":Feeling his wife's hand on his right shoulder, MacKenzie put down his quill.
Crossing the River
The first sentence from my YA fantasy novel, The Quest of the Unaligned, coming out on Monday! Of the thousand noises, movements, and smells that fought for Alaric’s notice in Peet’s crowded bar, only one thing captured his attention: the man who had just materialized on one side of the room.

Prologue of my first book The Remarkables goes:He had been running for what seemed like hours.
But what is he running from...?
"I was an ice child, having the ill luck to be born in the deepest storms of winter, when the drifts of snow can bury whole caravans without a trace, and the winds will cut a man open with slivers of ice."(From Shadowborn)
"Police sirens echoed throughout the campus, forcing me to pull over at least three times to let them pass."First line of the first chapter in the mystery/thriller book Halls of Ivy
To add to the above post, here is the first line of the second book in the series, Halls of Ivy: Pathfinder."Kneeling down on the blood-stained carpet, I clasped my hands over hers, feeling her warmth fading away."
The first line of the first book in my series is:
"My name is Elloner. I am dead."
"My name is Elloner. I am dead."
Mr / Master Positive Powers 'Wizardry Word Influencer' Welcome to Ondlon CityThis is fun :)
Here it is:
“Understanding that his power was available and learnable potentially by all kids, and adults that wanted it, Mr Positive Powers decided to begin a teaching plan”.
From my novel, ELDORADO"The streetcar shuddered and pitched to the right as the passengers all rushed to one side to look out the windows."
From a work under progress, In Articulo Mortis:"Come look upon my face without fear, for I am your future and your past."
From my contemporary YA novel Normalish:"When I was twelve years old, I learned not to talk about death.
