questions/comments for chapters 1 - 71) More information on Mercury and Arrows. Yay!
2) Definitely a lot of cover ups going on. Did you find it interesting that all the members of the council approved of Silence?
3) Protocol 1 - They cut into a developing brain and initiate Silence on an organic level. Link between Psy would be biological thereby eliminating the PsyMind. Is this what you believed was what Protocol 1 involved? Sounds scary.
4) Sounds like Enrique had an accomplice. They're attacking males. Could it be a female doing it? Any guesses who at this point? I'm going to take a stab (no pun intended) and guess Soshana. How could she have interpreted Enrique's research if no on else could?
5) We now have a Ghost in the PsyNet. Any guesses who that could be? Judd believes it has to be either one of the Councilors or one of their assistants because of the intell they can get a hold of. I'm going to take a stab and say it's Ming Lebon. Why? Because of the description of him. It reminded me of a ghost and also because it sounds like he'd be in charge of the Arrows. Just a feeling. I could be totally wrong. "Ming was a true shadow."
6) New news about Anthony NightStar he's leading a quiet rebellion against the Council. Were you surprised to find that out?
7) Judd can turn invisible. Blurred or smudged being the term for it. Sounds pretty cool. Which Psy power would you most like to possess?
8) Brenna seems to have new powers which aren't exactly pleasant. Do you believe she'd seen his death prior to him being killed or just superimposing one image on the other like Judd suggested?
9) So the Ice in Caressed by Ice is Judd. He is actually in favor of Silence for people like him. He was conditioned to be able to handle any pain. Do you think silence made him a killer or he had a tendency toward it before? Do you think Silence could be a good thing for certain Psy and not the whole population?
10) "The PsyMind was the librarian and some believed, the policeman of the PsyNet. Interesting.
11) We know more about what Enrique was doing. He was conducting unauthorized experiments. What did he do to Brenna?

1) Yes, that sounded really scary, didn't it? And they were against Silence! And I guess Judd is an Arrow. Is that the way you understood it?2) Yes, many cover ups. Yes, I did think it interesting about the all members of the Council approving Silence. Although, I wonder if it was a case of some of the members being forced to comply. Like if any one of them decided against Silence, they knew the other members would do away with them.

6) This very much surprised me. And I think it is just a matter of time before the Council finds out what he is doing, and there will be a hit out on him. Don't you think? And probably everyone that works for him (which means Faith too).

8) No, I think Brenna is really seeing something. I think it all has to do with what Enrique did to her, but I also think this may be a way for her to bring something good out of the horrible situation she went through. Again, here I think we see Psy traits in a Changeling.
9) This is very disturbing, as I've become so fascinated with Judd. I don't know if it was Silence, or if he had the tendency before. He is thinking that Silence is the only way to control the killers, but look at Enrigue. Silence certainly didn't stop him. If Silence could actually control the serial killers, then maybe Silence would be good for those. But then, Silence can't control the serial killers because they didn't control Enrique.
10) Yes, policing the Psy world. But here again, I'm still hung up on why they didn't see/catch Enrique. I need to quit beating a dead horse. Lol.
11) Yes, she alludes to very horrible things...things that no one else knows, and things she can't tell anyone else. I bet we find out though, because I bet she tells Judd.

I hadn't marked it and I'm reading the paperback so I couldn't do a search. The person was referred to as being a 'he'. My guesses at the person being female and Soshana are dashed. New guess is Kaleb (sounded like he might have been a protogee') or maybe Henry? Henry could have deciphered Enrique's notes and maybe given it to Soshana?
1) I believe he is an arrow but he hasn't admitted to it.2) That is an interesting theory. With some of the killing powers the council members have I wouldn't doubt they could do that. But we really don't know who those members were way back then. Were they are ruthless as the ones today are? I think it could make for a nice prequel.

13) Brenna's latest dream sounds like someone with kids may get killed. I wonder if she can stop it before it happens?
14) Judd is living a double life. Could the ghost perhaps be a fellow arrow other than Ming?
15) Interesting to know how Ming is in charge of the Arrows and why. Sounds like his control over the Arrows probably won him his position on the Council. So who is the head hancho of the Arrows? Could that be the ghost?
16) Did it sound to you like the Council may be controlling the Protocol 1 Scientist by holding her child hostage?
17) Political maneuvering between Hawke and Judd. Is he now a leutenient(I'm too tired to look up proper spelling)?

Questions for Chapters 14 - 1925) I have a new theories on the ghost.
Suspect number one - Sascha because of all the information we were given in the prior book about her surfing the net and communicating with it.
Suspect number two - Faith because she might have acquired insider knowledge from her dad.
Suspect number three - Anthony NightStar with his rebellion.
26) Silver Mercant is Kaleb's assistant. Why do I have the feeling she's someone to watch?
27) Kaleb has found out about the lab that Judd torched. There are 10 test subjects. Were they all Psy? Did perhaps Enrique sanction the testing and Ming took it over upon his death?
28) Nakita and Kaleb seem to be teaming up. Not surprising, it sounds like the Council is having some huge internal battles.
29) We've found out about a new changeling packs the DarkEdge Pack in Moscow. Could be interesting.
30) Do you think the hyenas after Brenna or just out to make trouble?
31) Judd saved Brenna's life but didn't stick up for her later. Interesting how Hawke put things in perspective for Judd. Do you think Hawke is hopinh the two make a match to solidify Judd into the pack?
32) Judd thought Brenna couldn't handle his TK status and seems he might have been partially right. She just needs to figure things out.

I'm behind too, Lisarenee, so don't worry about that. It has been so crazy here at work, I'm trying to move, and I have surgery on the 20th and will be in the hospital for a few days. 25) Wow. I never even thought of those. Ghost is against Silence, we know that. That is a very, very intersting obsveration you have there. I would have to agree on all three accounts - it could be any one of them. Oooohh, what if it was Sascha and Faith together, working on it? Wouldn't that be interesting?26) Yes, exactly. It's going to be interesting to see where she lands.
27) I don't know. I'm still trying to pin down exactly where Ming fits into all of this. If he took over from Enrique, then I wonder if he is the killer of the changeling that happened at the very beginning?
28) Yes, but did you catch the part about it being controlled by two primaries? Silver brought that to Kaleb's attention, and now they are trying to find out who those two are.
29) Yes, but sounds like they are somehow hooked to Kaleb. That could be bad news. I wasn't expecting any "bad" changelings in the mix. Of course we don't know much about them right now, so it's hard to say. Still, if they are in any way connected to Kaleb, you have to wonder.
30) I think Kaleb and his minions sent the hyenas. They are out to bring about destruction, and I think Kaleb is using them to do so.
31) Yes, this was very surprising from Judd. I fully expected him to back her up right there. Now we are going to get to see him grovel, because Brenna can't stand for that. Judd can't be straddling the fence when it comes to her. It was interesting though, that it didn't happen the way I thought it would. It definitely keeps me on my toes. And, I never thought about it from Hawke's POV, but you are right...it certainly would make things easier for him, wouldn't it.
32) Yeah, I was wondering how this was going to go down once she found out. She seems to be doing okay, but she has to get it straight in her mind. She was mad though (understandably so) that he kept it from her.
33) I'm not particularly liking Andrew or Riley right now. I wouldn't put it past either one of them to be stirring up trouble behind the scenes trying to elimiate Judd. I bet one of them turns bad. Probably Andrew.
34) I really liked this part. Seeing her finally coming back into her own, making decisions to get beyond Judd, should he decide not to come around. Not letting the set backs sink her back down in all that terrible Enrique mire. This part was great. I think alot will depend on Judd.
35) Yes, this is very interesting. After what she went through with Enrique, her not being able to tolerate intimacy is understandable. I think one of the reasons it is so different with Judd is because it was he that helped to heal her to the extent she is now. I remember reading towards the beginning how he would hold her, which is totally out of character for Psy. I think a strong bond was formed between the two during that time.
36) Yes, I thought this was great. Finally he's taking a stand and deciding to maybe work towards finding a way to make things work between he and Brenna rather than continue to fight the connection. Yes, I do think we are starting to see things turn in regards to their relationship. It's going to be very interesting to see what happens in the next chapters.
37) Yes, it is nice to be able to see little glimpses into their livess, and what they are doing. I really like that.
I'm going back to read chapters 20-25 now.I am really enjoying reading this series with you, and just wanted to let you know that. This is the first time I've done this, and it is a lot of fun to read a series with someone else and discuss it.
Sorry I'm late again. I'm enjoying reading this with you too. I do enjoy a good buddy read it makes reading the book more fun. I'd usually just rush through and read it in one sitting, but I feel I get more out of the book when I take it slower. Questions for Chapters 20 - 25
38) Wow! What a way to start the reading off. "He held Brenna's dying heart in his hands." I felt this was his subconscious warning/telling him he is the key to Brenna coming out of the attack in one piece. He's the only one who can make her whole. Her heart and much more are in his hands and he needs to make a decision.
39) I don't know about you but I truly adore the moments Nalini includes of the changeling children and the way these ice cold Psy interact with them. The scenes are so cute.
40) Did you think it wise of Judd to play war games with Riley and Andrew? I thought that was not too smart, but perhaps he needed to prove to them he wasn't weak?
41) Dear Goodness the guy stalking Brenna is a changeling????? What???? So maybe he wasn't part of Enrique's abductions? He's just mimicking it to confuse everyone? Did you think Judd is correct that the killer is coming after Brenna because she stated she saw the killing?

38) Yes, I highlighted this on my Kindle. He's finally realizing he can't continue to fight it.39) I know. It gives such a clear picture of how adorable children are in general. They truly are so precious, and they have a way of really putting things in perspective. They know no fear, and have all the trust in the world that their mom and dad will take care of them and protect them. What's to be afraid of? They are just precious. Makes the Psy uncomfortable too. Lol.
40) I think he was trying to make a point, and perhaps showing them that he would not run/hide from them no matter the type of confrontation. I think also, he had to show him his strength in regards to Brenna. They would definitely not let her be with someone weak, and I think he was trying to show them, he's not weak.
41) I think he is someone within the changeling realm, but he is colaborating with someone on the outside, in the Psy realm. I don't think he's acting alone. Yes, this is the first time we are seeing a bad Changeling. Yes, I do think he is coming after Brenna because she saw the killing, but I also think she will recognize him from the experience she went through with Enrique. I think he is somehow tied to Enrique, or her abduction. He is afraid she is going to start remembering certain things from her abduction and recognize him.
42) Greg is the only one to suspect at this point. At least he is the only Changeling we can put a name to, unless it's one of her brothers. No one else has been metioned that I can remember. However, as in book two, this could just be some random guy we've never heard of before. Nalini taught me that very well in book two. So at this point, it could be someone we've encountered in the book, but maybe not.
43) Yes, this was just perfect. Gotta knock Judd down on his backside - get his attention! She did good! Lol.
44) Yes, this was perfect interaction between the two. He's letting her know, she won't always be calling the shots. He'll stand up to her.
45) Yes, so now we know of at least two others - DeerSky and the Eagles. I think it a brilliant plan to attack the Psy via computer. This is where Brenna will shine.

I wonder if she did, and just didn't know it...maybe because he is Changeling too? She wouldn't have been looking for a killer, and certainly not a Changeling killer.

Questions for Chapters 26 - 3147) We now know just how powerful Judd's abilities truly are. A mere stray thought in anger could kill someone he loves. That is one scary power.
48) Judd can change things on a cellular level? That actually makes my mind go wild. Could that ability be used to change cancer cells to something else? Could he fix gene mutations? I mean he can get rid of scars. Can he just manipulate them or actually change the cells? Note: The designation for this TK ability is called Cell.

50) I so wish you were reading the Guild Hunter series with me. I keep seeing all these similarities between the two series I never would have noticed if I'd read them at separate times. The other book I'm reading had a similar situation where the male character warns the female that if they decide to be together there is no turning back. They are essentially theirs. Also the two women in the two series were both held by mad men. Very interesting.

It almost sounds like if Brenna and Judd get together, he's either going to die or will accidentally kill Brenna. How can that possibly work out? The author will pull it off though, of that I have no doubt.

Okay, I finally got caught up. I'll just go ahead an confess - I finished the whole thing. When I got through chapter 39, I thought what the heck, I'm supposed to be reading this next section today anyway. I'll just keep going. Lol.Great book. I loved the way this one ended.
I'm almost done. I'll post questions for everything left when I'm done. It's hard to pace yourself, but I was reading 2 other books at the same time.
First thing. Southpaw, you said you're going in for an operation? I hope it's nothing serious? Is it an outpatient procedure or will you be hospital bound for a while? I meant to ask you before, but this week my mind is warped from doing 3 buddy reads and having 1 child going back to school and trying to get everything done before the other 2 go back on Tuesday. 60) Dieter was listed on the cheat sheet, but I think he only had a cameo appearance prior to the big reveal. It said he was a friend to Andrew and Riley. He was also Elias' partner guarding the perimeter when Brenna and Judd snuck out of the camp to talk.
61) Judd's power is so cool. We now know he can't create new cells but he can manipulate them. There seem to be a lot of scenes, lines, and instances where hearts are mentioned in this book. I wonder if there's some underlying meaning to it all in regards to Judd?
62) Dang it! I loved how Nalini had Judd and Brenna already mated and they didn't know it. It shows how much more intense his conditioning was from Saschana's or Faith's.
63) We find out Hawke's mate died when he was 10? How awful. Could he have been wrong? I can't believe he won't get a HEA. That would be just so sad.
64) What is Sienna's Psy designation? They made it sound scary, but never stated what it was.
65) Judd is now a Lieutenant. I wonder why Hawke didn't offer him that position before?
66) I'm back to thinking Ming might be the ghost. I can't see Faith or Sascha saying they have so much blood on their hands. Plus, what Judd told Brenna about meeting the ghost years ago also takes Faith and Sascha out of the running.
67)I liked the description of how Judd disabled the Psy net programming.
68) Judd without Silence is something special and insatiable. lol
69) The description of Brenna joining the Lauren Net was interesting. She strengthened it, but it made me wonder...If Lucas died would Sascha be able to survive in the changeling web or is her connection to it Lucas and if he dies she dies?
70)We knew from Visions of Heat Caleb was trained by Enrique, but were you surprised the Council didn't know?
71) We find out the Hyena Leader was killed/executed and the PsyCouncil is now on the lookout for a missing Psy soldier or Arrow capable of deprogramming people.
72) New term Flameout. When a Psy is depleted of energy both physically and psychically.
73) You predicted that a dealer would be involved and you were right. Drugs, money, and sex seem to make the world go round. Once it was established a changeling was involved in Enrique's plots I should have guessed. Do you think Kaleb was involved too?
73) So Enrique was planning on kidnapping more changeling females. *shudder* Because otherwise he would have killed Dieter.
74) Soshana and Henry were the two leaders of the Silence 1 implants and they sent orders for their mindless minions to kill themselves. Crazy.
75) Correlation Concept-you need empaths in the net to curb the insanity and suicides within the PsyNet.
76)I liked how Judd let Brenna kick Dieter's butt.

Hi Lisarenee. Yes, surgery is scheduled for Monday morning. No, it isn't outpatient, and I will be in the hospital for a day or so. It was totally unexpected. It just depends on how well I do afterwards. I won't be active at all for a few days. After that I will be somewhat active again, but probably to a limited degree.I really want to continue with this buddy read of the series, but I don't think I will be very active until towards the end of August, possibly the first part of September.
I'm not sure how that will fit into your schedule, and if you need to keep going, I understand.
I will have someone here that is going to help out with things, as I'm overseeing a team challenge that starts September 1st over at the Crazy Challenge Connection group. Hopefully I will be fully functional again at that time. However, if not, someone here will be able to help me get those things done. So, I will be able to check in here as well.
60) I did not remember him at all. Shows how well I pay attention. Lol.61) I don't know, but you are right about that. He feels beating hearts, holds them in his hands, etc. Kind of creepy.
62) Yes, this was fantastic. Yes, his conditioning was much really intense. It's amazing how the author can take these things and just make them fit. What an imagination she has - very extraordinary I think.
63) No, I can't believe this either. I just know Hawke's story is somewhere in this series. I've been tempted to peek so bad to see who we get to read about next, but I've not done it yet. I want to be surprised. Lol. I really don't think Hawke is going to be alone for the rest of his life, do you?
64) I don't know, but I gotta tell you...I'm wondering if this is not going to be Hawke's mate. I did find out in this book though that he is 30 something. I can't remember exactly how old Sienna is, but I think she is much younger. Still, I wouldn't put it past Nalini to bring this about. I could be totally off base on it though.
65) I'm not sure, unless it was to wait and see if he would be able to make it all work within the Pack, since many of them hate the Psy.
66) I know Ming is tied to this somehow, but I just can't quite figure it out. I would not be surprised to learn he is the ghost.

69) That is a very interesting observation about Lucas and Sascha. I don't know. If I remember correctly though, he was her connection. Then along came Vaugh and Faith, and they were connected to it as well. So, Sascha might would survive with their connection if Lucas died. But then, as strong as the bonds are, if something happened to Lucas, Sascha would not want to live I don't think, and that would seal her fate probably more than anything. Unless of course they had children, then it would be different.
70) Yes, I was very surprised about Nikita finding out all this information. I would have thought the Council would have known everything about him. But then again, had the Council known about his connection to Enrique, do you think they would have allowed him to become the leader?
71) I was so afraid they were going to find Judd...am still afraid they will. Or if not him, one of the others in the Laurenet.
72) I thought this so very interesting. And it was due to his lack of power that he and Brenna could finally be together without it killing him. Though as it turns out, he was able to reprogram everything anyway. Lol.
73) I do think Kaleb is involved. And, it's probably on a very deep level. He's like a Mafia guy, I think. Very mean, cruel, and will kill anybody for anything at the drop of a hat. You look at Kaleb wrong, you die. I'm actually listening to an audio book right now about the Mafia, so please forgive my gross comparison. But that is what Kaleb reminds me of - a Mafia Boss.
73) Enrique had no intention of ever stopping I don't think. I think he just would have kept on getting worse and worse. And, it was horrible the things he did. Just horrible.
74) I think there is going to be some type of power play that takes place between these two and Kaleb. I think Soshana wants to rule the world, and I think Henry will do whatever she wants him to do.
75) I never picked up on this, though it would have to be true I think. People are going crazy in the Psynet, and there is no one to save them but the empaths.
76) He stood back and let her have her way. He would only step in if she needed it. This was great!
77) I really like this book. It was a four star read for me. I'm definitely a fan of hers now. She's got me hooked for sure. I would love to continue on with this series buddy read. I'll be inactive for a few days, and probably won't be able to start the next one until sometime around the end August, first of September. Will that intefere too much with what you have going on?
Well, I'll say a little prayer that all goes well. I always hate it when I'm in the hospital for anything. If you're in for a day or so that will take a while to recover. Make sure you get a nice dose of pain killers. I'll skip ahead to some of the later books that I can get from the library on audio and when you're feeling up to it we can start from where we left off. I'm good when it comes to starting books in the middle or end of a series. Probably because I do it all the time.
