Yes, I loved all his earlier ones...I read the Seven Deadly Wonders, but haven't read The Six Sacred Stones or The Five Greatest Warriors: A Novel as I didn't enjoy the first one as much as the earlier ones...I have them here and have been assured they are excellent, and I should read them!! I will get there....lol

No they are wonderful for that Dale:)

My review of it is here http://awesomeindies.net/2012/11/18/r...

Me too. Some of the prize winners are so boring.

And boy, haven't there been some terrible ones that have won awards!! It makes you wonder who does the choosing...lol

I loved this book: one of my all-time favourite Grenville books. I agree, the cow scene was hilarious
Lynxie wrote: "Ooh... I will have to get that one! I just signed up to her mailing list and scored three of her books for free :) isn't she just awesome?!"
I have those already Lynxie, got them for free from her previously, and was thrilled for anyone who didn't have them. Yes, she is awesome. Her mailing list is brilliant...really informative email:)

I too enjoyed your review Lynxie. So much so that I wonder if I can add my book to your list for a future review? However, I am in a different genre - that of memoir. If you have the time and inclination I can gift you a free download if I have your Kindle download details. Cheers, June

Let me know :)

WOW where to start. I love so many of our Australian writers!
Maybe I will focus on young adult and children, as my son and I have read so many wonderful Australian authors.
LOVED LOVED LOVED all of these (yes me, not just my son, and I am fast approaching 40!)
John Marsden especially the tomorrow series
Emily Rodda (well I love most of her stuff)
Two Weeks With The Queen I have read this book several times and it still makes me cry
Garth Nix
John Flanagan
A few of my favourite adult authors are
Bryce Courtney especially his earlier works
Tim Winton - Cloudstreet
Kate Grenville
Traci Harding
I also remember loving 'Hanging at Picnic Rock' when I was younger.
And now I'm having a brain blank.
I haven't tried Judy Nunn yet but keep meaning to
Have any of you heard of an author called Jennifer Bacia who hit it big internationally about ten years ago? In case you didn't know, she has gone indie!! Wahoo - that means brilliant books for an awesome price!!
Vicki Tyley is another indie author who is Australian. I read her first book 'Fatal Liaison' and really enjoyed it. I have yet to read her others but hear they only get better!!

Great list of Authors there.
No I haven't heard ofJennifer Bacia but will look into her books. Thankyou :)
The only Judy Nunn book I've read so far is Maralinga and it's really good.

Cool maybe I should start with that one first!! And you are welcome. I hope you enjoy them as much as me :)

I really enjoyed his first novel and the story behind it (as in his road to publishing it) but I just couldn't get into Ice Station I never tried him again after that. If I wanted to give him another try, what would you suggest I start with? (If you don't mind my asking)

I added this to my read list, then read your review and have already bought it!! I think I have just found my next read, I am so excited to have found an Australian Indie. Not only that it was only $0.99, and has lots of good reviews and is ranking quite well at 8314.

Thanks Brenda - I also loved the movie too! Actually it would be good to read it again and see if it still resonates with me like it did back then!

Love Song - by I think Alex Miller - not sure if it won an Australian award or the book prior to that one.
