Werner | 2706 comments Katrina, welcome to the group; we're glad you've joined us! Just make yourself right at home; check out our discussion board, and comment wherever you want to. (I read To Kill a Mockingbird a few years ago. It got five stars from me, and my only regret was that I didn't read it sooner!)

Vickie (bookfan4ever) | 19 comments Hi, I'm Vickie. I'm in a couple other groups with Werner and this one was mentioned, so I thought I'd check it out. I work in a high school library for a private boarding school and love to read most genres. My favorite classic authors are Ernest Hemingway and Daphne du Maurier. For years now, I've been SLOWLY making my way through classics, but I'd like to do better with that and make it a point to read at least one classic per month this year. We'll see how it goes.😉😊

You might be interested in our annual classics challenge, here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... . We don't compete against each other, but we do try to see how many total classics we read as a group in a given year (and in 2024, we didn't do nearly as well as we did in 2023; you might help us out for 2025!). Also, you might want to check out this thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... .

Reggia | 2537 comments Welcome, Vickie! Good to have you here! I'm working my way through the classics, too... only 3 this past year. Inbetween the tomes, I usually a read shorter contemporary book.

Thanks for the setting up the 2025 thread, Werner. Here's to more read this year!

Laura B | 81 comments Hello from Texas. My name is Laura, and I absolutely love to read, mainly classics, but some contemporary as well. I think like most people on GR, reading keeps me sane as I am very much an escape reader. My mood determines what I will read next. I know Werner from the Reading for Pleasure Book Club. I came across this group, and thought I'd like to join as well. It seems like a friendly group with similar interests as mine.

Werner | 2706 comments Laura, it's great to see you here; welcome! We're a relatively quiet group, with less daily activity than RFP (and unlike that group, we haven't gotten into doing common reads); but we hope you'll find your Litwit Lounge experience rewarding nonetheless. Just make yourself at home, check out our homepage and discussions, and comment wherever you want to. :-)
