Xavier remained cool, waiting for Nik's signal.

"I don't think so." He said slowly. His eyes flashed with malice as he lashed out at Jones, kicking out a leg at his knee caps. "A shame. You could have been useful." His arm came up, seraph blade flashing in his hand. "Let's see how you deal with Aly. Now, Xavier."

Jones fell when he was hit, kneeling before Nik but still grasping his blade. He wasn't going to go down without a fight.
Xavier nodded and bunched his fingers into a fist, pulling Aly towards him so he could launch her at Jones.
In the wings of the corridor, a figure looked down at them, bow and arrow at the ready and aimed, silent and deadly.

Nik watched from afar, muscles tight, adrenaline pumping through his veins. He sensed a presence, but made no move to look around. He wanted the element of surprise here. Nik knew that this fight would end in some sort of fatal injury, but he was hoping it would be on their side.

Nia inhaled as quietly as she could, bringing the bowstring close to her cheek, the feathers of the arrow grazing her skin as the head made a straight line for Nik.
Jones stayed down, fully trusting his student.
Xavier looked to Aly and said, "Kill him my dear..."

Nia pulled back her bow and slipped back into the darkness, awaiting her next opportunity.

Nik's other hand crept down to his belt and carefully removed a knife. "Let's all remain calm, shall we?" His voice was quiet and calm. "Jones, let's let bygones be bygones for now. Why don't we stop this violence and talk?" He smiled, but it didn't quite reach his eyes.

Jones pulled Xavier closer and drew his own blade to press against the warlock's neck. "You're the least trustworthy person I know Nik...never," he replied, trying to hide his inner conflict to see Aly be held at knife point right in front of him.

((Be a good time fir Nia to time back in ;)))

Nia crept up behind, poising her bow and arrow once more against Nik's back, making sure she was hidden from the warlock's view.

"My crazy experiments were for one purpose, and one purpose only-to take back what has been stolen from us. Alone, with just our morals...we're weak. Pathetic." He spit. "I can give you the world. I can return to you the happiness that was ripped away. Don't you want Aly to get revenge on the wolves who killed her parents? And you...there is something, somewhere inside you that knows I'm right, Nia." Nik shook his head, shoulders dropping. "All I want is for us to be family again. For us to be whole, and powerful. The Clave is corrupt. We are disposable. They say that we will die with honor, protecting the world from demons. But we are nothing to them but weapons." He looked up at her, eyes blazing with conviction. "We are people. And we feel. And we hurt." He gestured to Jones and Aly. "Together, we can be worth something."

Nia didn't drop her aim but her eyes softened. "You're still crazy. How do you plan on doing that? Overthrowing the clave? If this is just a mission to rise to fame and gain worldwide attention than you're definitely on your way to become one of the most infamous shadowhunters in known history," she replied stiffly, assessing the situation. How was she going to get them all out of this?

Jones watched the scene and found Xavier was not a useful hostage - Nik didn't care enough of the warlock. He thought he might be able to pull Aly into safety for the moment at least...

Nia wanted to turn her arrow to the warlock but didn't. "I don't think he's going to go anywhere," she said. Jones prepared his seraph blade in case.

Jones looked to Nia, emotionally tired with all that had happened. "Come on Nia. We need to come up with a plan," he told her quietly. "I let them go. Dammit!" she cried, letting an arrow shoot wildly and bouncing against the upstairs mezzanine corridor where she had hid.
