Jones whipped out his seraph blade and continued forwards, gazing around for the voice. "A lot of attitude for a walking shadow..." he smirked.

Hearing the snick of a blade being drawn, Susan drew her own dagger to even the odds. "Why is it that you people never bother to answer questions?" she grumbled, irritation lacing her tone.
"Same could be said for your enigmatic answers. You sound young. Who are you?" he asked, circling the hallway.
"Who I am is of no consequence to you," Susan said, feeling even more edgy with the Shadowhunter drawing near with his blade. "Now will you stop wasting my time and tell me who you are?"
"Who do you think? Institute leader. And you?" he inquired, fingering the blade's sharp point.
Susan screwed her lips to the side. Lovely. The only person who could assist her was taunting her with a knife. "Like I said, who I am isn't important. I need you to send a message," she said bluntly, trying to brush aside his question.
"A message? You'll need to reveal yourself first." he growled, searching for the source. Who was this person? What message could they want?
Susan scowled. She knew she couldn't go home empty handed. Her mother would just come back in her place and too many people would remember her face. Grumbling inwardly, she stepped out from the shadows, her dagger still held readily at her side. "Yes, a message. I don't believe I stuttered," she snapped, feeling her pulse quicken.((i've gotta go to bed :( ))
((Aw, nighty night!))"Yes I believe you didn't answer anything I asked. I need replies." he replied carefully and articulately.
Susan grit her teeth, taking slow, calculated breaths. "And I do not believe that it would be in my best interests for you to know my name, so I strongly advise you to leave it at that," she said roughly.
"No name, no trust, no message. Clear enough for you?" he replied, having stopped pacing now and sheathing his seraph blade.
Susan kept her blade ready, her lips pressed thin. "My name is Susan, that good enough for you?" she retorted bitterly. She needed this to be done.
"Susan?" He thought over the name again and again - he could not come up with any prominent shadowhunters in the city with that name, but then again so many are arriving, he probably hadn't met her yet. "Why is it you're not going to your own Institute's leader for the message hm?" He felt like he already knew the answer.
Susan rolled her eyes. "I don't belong to any institute, "she said bitterly, as if the very thought of it disgusted her. She had never even been inside an institute before,despite having lived in several cities in Europe that had institutes.
"No? How curious..." Jones remarked, now extremely interested in this rogue shadowhunter. "What do you want to be passed then?" he demanded, less cordial in his tone.
Susan hesitated for a moment. "I need... a request to be sent to the consul. My family and I need safe passage into Idris and wish not to be disturbed," she said flatly. "Disturbed" as in hunted down.
"Now that's insane to ask." Jones laughed humorlessly. Did she think it was going to be possible that he let her and her family through like that? Without details?
"It's more sane than a few other options that I could think of," Susan said as if it were a simple matter. "All I'm asking is for you to present the message to the consul."
"What is this message then?" he asked, not taking her seriously anymore.
Susan rolled her eyes. Now this was just ridiculous. "My family and I request safe passage into Idris for one week and wish not to be disturbed during that time," she said slowly as if he was a child who didn't understand.
"Safe passage to Idiris? What am I supposed to tell the Clave? Susan from who knows where asked so I let her into the City. Hm?" he demanded, shaking his head.
Susan bit back a heavy sigh, making a quick decision. Glad she had a knife at hand, she replied, "We do not require entrance into the city and we aren't asking for permission. We are giving a warning that if anyone shows the Stormways any hostility while we are their, that we will retaliate without hesitation. We are going to Idris whether the Clave likes it or not. We're just being considerate in giving you Shadowhunters a head up."
"The Stormways..." he murmured and he dawned on him. Susan Stormway...he had known her father then. Immediately he pulled out his seraph blade and began pacing again searching for her. "That's your message? We're coming so back off?"
"That sounds about right," Susan said bluntly. When the seraph blade came back out, she was absolutely certain that he wouldn't be sending any messages for her. She sighed inwardly. Her mother wouldn't be very pleased, but she had done what she could. She was not looking forward to have to fight off another Shadowhunter. A dark, wet night came to mind and she wrinkled her nose at the memory.
He then took a deep breath and stopped walking, saying "If you came out into the open, I might consider it. It happened a long time ago and we both have similar interests."
Susan's eyes narrowed slightly at his words. "Shadowhunters aren't the most trustworthy people. Why should I believe you won't just try to fillet me if I let you see me?" she demanded.
"Because you'd defend yourself and a seraph blade isn't exactly going to do the job." he reasoned.
She studied him suspiciously. "Do I have your word?" she demanded, knowing she would trust him any more if she had his word or not, but it would at least be a little more reassuring.
"My word." He nodded, sheathing the blade and raising his hands, showing he was unarmed.
Taking a slow, hesitant breath, Susan revealed herself. It went against everything she knew. Never once in her life had she willingly shown herself to a Shadowhunter. It only ever resulted with blood on her hands. "So you'll relay the message?" she asked, wasting no time.
Jones glanced her over with a pleased smile. "Much better Susan. Now about the message...I believe I can patch it through. It's not requesting much. I assume you'll want out on the sender?"
"Yes," she replied shortly. Susan continued to watch him guardedly, her dagger still in her grasp. She decided she wouldn't let go of it until she got home. She had taken too much of a risk as it was, she wasn't about to let herself go unarmed.
"Very well Susan. It was nice to finally meet you. I hope you don't get into any trouble with that attitude of yours in the future and even though I might regret saying this - help is found at the institute for any shadowhunter, especially when they're in trouble." he explained.
She didn't hesitate to doubt his words. Anywhere among Shadowhunters wasn't safe for her and her family as long as they believed that the nephilim could do no wrong. All she said was, "I'll keep that in mind."
"Goodbye then Susan Stormway. Careful, the streets are about to erupt in chaos." he reminded her, thinking over Nik's betrayal on top of the vampire/werewolf plot.
Susan nodded only once before slipping back into the shadows, eager to leave the Institute behind her. Well. That had been a little unsettling...
Jones shook his head at the Stormway memory. How long had it been? Susan was rather grown up. Maybe the new generation could patch things up. They were good shadowhunters.

((Hm, well the underworld is always a good place - Xavier is dealing with shady business there plus Megan, a showhunter, needs some backup soon maybe. You could just go down there for your own interests and bump into them. OR the streets have patrolling werewolves and mundanes.))
((I think I'll send her to the streets. That seems like a more logical place for her to be at the moment))

Jaze walked up to the Institute, looking a bit unhappy. She's slipped her knife into her jacket's sleeve, so it was once again hidden. She saw a girl knock on the doors and walked up to her. She frowned slightly and looked her up and down, seeing the claws for nails. "Warlock?"
Jaze frowned slightly, but nodded, resulting in her glasses sliding down her nose. She looked annoyed and pushed them back into place. "I'll take you in," she said. "and help you find Jones. I need to talk to him to, anyways."
Jaze nodded and opened the doors to the Institute, stepping in. "Don't mention it," she said over her shoulder.
Jaze looked forward again and started walking. "What kind of information have you got for the clave?" she said, because she was bored and curious.((I don't think Giulia is on.))
Jaze shrugged, continuing to walk. "Fair enough."
((Shoot. So what now?))So she's one of those people, Jaze thought, a bit annoyed.
