This may be a silly question, but I was just wondering if it is okay to make my profile picture the cover of a book? Is that allowed? Just want to make sure. Thanks.

I don't see why not. It's your profile picture and GR authors can do whatever they want with their profile.
Actually as long as it doesn't violate the Terms of Service it can be whatever you want. Also this is more of a feedback issue.
Nicole, many GR Authors do so. It's perfectly ok for them, since they own the rights to the cover.
However, if it is the cover to someone else's book, that's an image you don't own rights to, and that's likely problematic. Fair use applies to discussions about the book, not just using it wherever.
