The Way of Kings
question
The wait has ended! but at the same time, it has begun.

So after completing the last draft of the final book in the wheel of time series Sanderson has finally started the prewriting for the next book in the stormlight achieve series!(Oh happy days!). So like he did with Kaladin which characters back-story would you like to see him expand on next?. Treat this post as if it would have some affect on his final decision.
NOTE: This post will not have any affect on his writing plan whatsoever.
Or maybe it will...

It took me a while to warm up to Shallan, but by the end I liked her character. Dalinar's story is rad, and I'd like to see more of his past, so he has my vote (although Jasnah would be interesting as well).
Kaladian, Syl and Dalinar are who I'd like to read more about.
He has readings online now. He reads a sample chapter. He said the flashbacks would focus on Shallan.
Can't wait for more of this series - Kaladin's story was incredible and Shallan's story is pretty much told to us in Book 1, I suspect the whole cast of characters introduced at the end of Book 1 will be expanded upon in Book 2, Happy Times.......
Fingers crossed Book 2 will be out by 2014 !!

Dalinar, has to be him. His story is interesting. Also, more information on Gavilar would add another arc.
I'd like to see Shallan's backstory as she's the one who (view spoiler) And I believe he said a while back that Shallan would be expanded on in this coming book.
I finished this book last night. I thought it was amazing. I'm really excited for the next one, but I hate having to wait.
I personally want to know more about Syl, Jasnah and Szeth-son-son-Vallano (best name in the series, by the way!). But these are just the ones who left me with more questions than answers, and I love most of the other characters in the book as well.
What happpened to Gaz anyways? There has to be a story there...

I believe Sandreson will eventually show us much, much more os Kaladan, Shallan, Dalinar and Szeth. The one I really find most intriguing is Hoid. First of all, that name. Secondly, that last bit in the epilogue. Methinks there is much more to Hoid than a mere servant. On another note, has anyone who has read other books by Sanderson noticed that in all his books he has a minor character named Hoid? I'm hoping the Hoid in Stormlight has a major, earth shaking roll.
Until next time ...

I would love to see a little more about Dalinar, even though it seems like he's backing away from that. Ever since we found out that he went to seek out the Old Magic, I've been very curious about what his boon was. He may be my favorite character in the series. I feel like Fantasy has been moving away from characters that display a nobility of spirit, which I think is a shame. I'm so glad Sanderson has decided not to follow the rest of the genre in that aspect.
He initially stated it would be about Dalinar, but has backtracked on that. Now it is supposedly going to be centered on Shallan.

I'm pretty sure Sanderson has already confirmed that Dalinar is going to have the flashbacks in the next novel.
- Definitely expand on Syl's story
- I always kinda liked to picture Adolin and Shallan together lol. Or his brother with Shallan. For some reason, I just don't really see her and Kaladin together.
- Explanation with the cliffhanger about Shallan's father.
- Hoid, and that last chapter.
- The parshendi
There is a lot I could list. I'm just so excited that he can finally focus on stormlight 2. :D

The Spren, in particular Syl-I think she's the obvious one. I really want to know how she constantly keeps changing, and what she actually was before. I think there's quite a back story to her development that means she continues to change and influence Kaladin.
I'm expecting a romance of sorts to develop between Kaladin and Shallan, even though I don't think they've met yet
