So far we haven't tried a book of the month in the group. But let's try now. While one of the reasons was that the World covers everything (and alien detectives would kind of also fit the scene if someone wrote some really good space thrillers or detective stories), well, so far no one's suggested to vote for one or a few (or an author of the month). But that might be fun to try, and now I think there would be another good reason to try: Random House has offered the group 25 free copies to the members of the group. Yay! Different cultures and countries are always interesting, even if not 100 % of the action in a book would happen 'elsewhere'.
So, shoot! Want one of those copies? If you are a member of World Mysteries and Thrilers, and would like to read Dustin Thomason's new 12.21: A Novel, post in this thread. Tell a little something about yourself (if you're new here); why and how you became interested in mysteries, thrillers and detectives from other cultures and countries, how long you've been in Goodreads, who are your favorite detective characters... something that shows that you like the genre, and that if you win one for you, you'r read it and then post a review too (not just a star rating - a real review even if a shortish one).
And after, I guess we can continue to use the thread for discussing the book. :)
I've read a few years ago another of Thomason's books, The Rule of Four. But that was written so long ago, leaving years and years for writer and character and story development...
