Melanie | 212 comments I'm listening to Shadow Divers while working on spreadsheets. I've listened to but skimming John Adams to ensure I caught it all.

I'm also reading Off Balance: A Memoir and Untamed. I want to finish both of these before early Thursday morning.

I'm reading In the Company of Ogres. I know the title sounds a bit silly and the cover is horrible in my opinion but I really love reading A. Lee Martinez's books. He reminds me so much of Christopher Moore.

I also think I'm going to read Stephanie Bond's Body Movers. It looks like it should be a light, funny read.

Donna | 3 comments I'm listening to "A Country Doctor" by Sarah Orne Jewett. That's one thing about having limited selections on One-Click, I am downloading some things I might not have otherwise. It's very interesting so far, great descriptions of Maine country life. The heroine is a young woman orphaned as a baby under the guardianship of the country doctor. The doctor has taken pains to bring her up in a "natural" way, allowing her to find her interests. She has a talent for medicine, but this is during a time when women didn't have careers, unless they were unfit for marriage.

Alba | 1 comments I am reading The Help and really like it so far, but it is making me nervous because I know that the plot is thickening and things are about to turn ugly.

That is the one thing about that story that stuck with me. When the characters were terrified of the possible consequences for their actions, I couldn't help but be terrified for them too. Great book!

I'm actually reading The Help right now as well, and I know exactly what you mean. Everyone has a lot to risk, and the tensions are getting really high. I'm going to be really interested to see how things turn out in the end.

Melanie | 212 comments Just finished reading Major Pettigrew's Last Stand for So Many Books So Little Time group. While the book was slow moving it was very enjoyable and there was a dry humor that just made smile when reading it. I was very disappointed that the author does not have another book out or saying on her website that she is working on another book. There won't be a sequal.

Melanie | 212 comments I'm reading Loving Frank for my book club. I'm curious to learn more about Frank Lloyd Wright. However, in the reviews it sounds like the majority of the people don't like Mamah or Frank. Eek!

My next book is Insurgent. I'm excited to read it so hopefully that will get me though Loving Frank quickly.

I am currently reading The River of Doubt by Candice Millard. It about Theodore Roosevelt's journey down the Amazon after he was president. So far so good. I always enjoy reading about Theodore Roosevelt, he was such an energetic and interesting man.

Kara (kaengamom) | 19 comments I'm in the midst of Rift. I LOVE!!! how Andrea Cremer does her characters. They're all female, but they're the strong types that aren't anti-man, but they don't need a dude to save them, they can sure as heck take care of themselves. And I also like the fact that all of her male characters are very strong as well. Nothing really sours my mood like a whimpy dude and a pitiful female counter part. I'm a strong opinionate woman, I need girls in my readings to relate to.

I had to take a break from Stephanie Bond's Body Movers. It wasn't holding my attention. Instead, I started SPQR I: The King's Gambit by John Maddox Roberts, a historical mystery that looks like it might offer some political intrigue as well. So far it has been a quick read.
