Marie R. (mariekr) Hey there :)

I do not know if this is the right place for the topic, but it just came to my mind and I thought I will share it with you. And it is about writing, so this should be the right folder, right?

Well as a hobby-writer I am always on the search for great writing tips. So I thought we could collect some. But just collecting tips is boring. So here is my idea:
I tell you what my biggest problem with writing is, the next one gives me an advice and tells us about his/her biggest probelm and on the chain goes.

Got it?
So my biggest problem would be my motivation. I always have so many great ideas but I never finish them. I just can't really motivate myself.

What is your biggest problem?
Greetings

PS: If this topic does not fit in the group feel free to delete it :D

josie:) | 236 comments I think I can solve your problem Kimberly. Have commitment and discipline. When you get sidetracked or don't finish anything, punish yourself. WHen I punish myself I make myself run for five miutes outside, well it's a pain for me. If that doesn't work, write down all your great ideas all at once and then train yourself to finish one idea at a time. I guess the huge point here is self- commitment and discipline.

My problem: I am working on something right now, but when I write the first draft it's so hard to put my ideas on paper worrying about grammer and sentence stuff.

Kylee (kyleemcgowan) I think the best way to deal with that Josie is to not worry about it until you have all of your first draft finished and then just go back and proof read it and edit all of the mistakes you made. That way you can write the best you can without having to worry about anything until you're finished!

Marie R. (mariekr) Wow, your answer fast :)
Thanks for the tip Josie.
I would agree with Kylee. Do not worry about it while you're writing it. You can go back and edit it any time. Or find yourself a beta reader, someone who reads the story and corrects the mistakes for you. That always helps, since your beta is so close to the work and finds mistakes, not just the ones in writing but the ones in the plot, too, better than you.

looks like now we need someone with a new problem :D
Greetings
