author death date problem

Editing Sōgi I've repeatedly entered a death date of September 1, 1502, but August 22, 1502 is displaying.

Separately, is it a feature or a bug that when I enter only a year (no month or day) for an author birth, it is not saved? (It is a common enough scenario that only a year of birth might be known).

That was weird, but I forced it to show the right date.

As for year only, the system is not set up to accept incomplete birth or death dates.

Thanks, Rivka. Would it be worth considering seeing if the system could be changed to accept year-only birth/death data? As I said above, it's a not uncommon scenario with writers from centuries ago. I suppose a workaround is to enter January 1, but it introduces an inaccuracy which can hardly be desirable - but arguably better than no date at all. (Or perhaps there's another forum where this could be better discussed?)

The request has been made before, but changing the system to accommodate those dates is not a high priority.
